I am an existing iPhone 4S user,I want to upgrade my phone to ip5 since the os really catch my heart, but with the coming htc one and S4 it really makes me think twice which one should I get..I never use an android phone before so I really need your honest opinion whether I have to stick to the iOS or go for the android?
*
I would recommend you to go for Nexus 4 to start your journey into Android. It is a very good phone , smooth and responsive
I also have iphone 5 ( and have used all the ip series) and ipad mini ( and have used all the ipad series before that ) but it has never attracted me due to its closed system
No one can advise you whether IOS is better or worse than Android
Read up comparisons in the web between these 2 - and you get conflicting opinion
Tell us what you usually want to do with the phone and perhaps I could advice you whether switching to Android is better or worse for you

Same here bro, I use my Ip 4S for daily beater phone. And get an Butterfly for the few instances that you want to try out a new game that is free on the Play Store but need to pay in Apples App Store.

If you are whore for google services, then android is for you. I love everything google from gmail, keep, g+, chrome beta, etc right down to their mantra 'don't be evil'

The latest android iteration has the superb Google Now, which is amazingly outstanding

One drag from the home button and you get every damn info you need and Google thinks you needed if you let it track your usage and location.

For example, when I am at home, I get
- latest football scores from the teams I track
- updates on air flights I am taking, whether delayed or on time
- estimated time home or to office based on current traffic condition
- estimated time to a venue which Google flagged based on your frequent journeys to the area e.g. My weekly badminton venue was promptly picked up by Google and asked for my permission to save as a location I wish to track.
- informs of package shipment from amazon purchases

When overseas, google Now automatically
- picks up areas of interest that I searched for previously and gave me an estimated distance and journey
- bus numbers to the venue
- places of interest based on my current location
- flight info updates

As Benny has pointed out, the nexus 4 is a very good phone with commitment from Google for the latest and fastest updates now and in the future. The hybrids are HTC or Samsung, but as a previous Samsung S3 user, I absolutely abhor the bloatware that's touchwiz. I think HTC sense is more elegant and usable. As a very happy Nexus 4 user, I'll probably be getting a HTC One to play with whilst waiting for the next Nexus iteration, ie the Nexus X

i like ios because the smoothness and reliability of the iphone so i am scared to use android because many users say that their phones are always lags..mostly i use my phone to browse internet, playing a bit heavy games, listening to music, and store pictures.

its not easy switching from ios to android. i tried before and reverted back to ios in just few days. and now i have managed to stick to android for a month now. for me ios is too dated and lag behind in terms of features. good luck to u trying out android. hopefully ur experience will be a great one.

android may be lag but this is due to UI such as TouchWiz, Sense..
this kind of UI makes android sometimes laggy becoz of bloatware, laucher, etc..
the pure android UI (Nexus) is definitely smooth.. thumbup.gif

but as for now, i can see that htc one/s4 is really smooth.
well, the power of the CPU.. flex.gif

iOS is very polished because apple made the effort to optimize hardware and software to the hilt, and religiously protect that turf from bloatware. Android, being in the wild, has too many component manufacturers and optimizing it is not as straightforward.

But they are getting better, as someone has said, buy top end specs if you choose android and the experience will be more palatable.

Frankly, plain vanilla android is still best

I would say in this case , your iphone will serve you well. If you worry about lag, consider Nexus 4 with its pure vanilla OS. Others like Samsung, Sony, HTC has their own UI on top of the Android OS. I'd say with the newer versions of Android OS, lag is not a serious significant issue. You can always replace the launcher with 3rd party launcher that is similar to Nexus without the manufacturer bloatware UI. I'd say even ip5 lags but iP users will defend saying it doesn't. I cannot convince you on this - go and try the Nexus 4 and assess it yourself
Advantage of Android over IOS is file management - you can easily organize your files without the need to connect to iTunes or you need to JB it and use , say iFile which is just a piece of shitty app and any of the free file explorer app in android will shame it greatly

Android is definitely laggy and such a huge problem until they release project buttercup to solve this issue.
Now it is a bit better with quad core, 2GB RAM, GHz, etc...
But occasionally, it will still lag.
and u must buy flagship (most expensive ) models, otherwise u will vomit blood.

. Google is Internet search company, and they depend on other manufacturer. So android is never optimized. Just imagine, Google android is like a prostitute, made to suit different men.

So u cannot really compare with Apple iPhone. Apple has best technology on Earth in graphics and hardware/software interface.iOS is only used for iPhone where it is like match made in heaven.

"apple has the best technology in graphic and hardware/software interface.." - this is a plain fanboy statement, please do some research before making such statement.. it is the polished iOS that made the phone smooth, not the hardware or technology behind it... as far as iPhone 5 h/w spec, it is still far behind current android specs - go look at benchmark.

"Google is internet search company" - another shallow statement. Google by far now has evolved from being only a search engine company. Please go do some read up - google now offers highspeed fiber connection in US, google glass, google chrome, chromebook.

Yes uncle rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

I already sniffed rat when he first appeared last week.

He always chooses some politically or economically important persona, and eventually ends up bashing Android and singing the praises of Apple.

IMO, you'll feel more at home with HTC one thanks to its metallic build.

Best is to play with an android phone first, not the low/mid range phones - they are indeed laggy.

Touchwiz has a reputation of being bloated and laggy while htc sense 5 is more nimble and smoother in general.

Pure android that google releases itself isn't laggy at all.

U r most likely a small boy and doesn't know much.

Apple has been producing computers with powerful graphics capability. It is their core technology. Google may have expanded much into other areas but their world class technology is in internet search engine.

So they really cannot compare with apple on software/hardware integration for lag free experience
*
Oh yeah? As much as I know, Apples iMac and their laptops are using NVIDIA GRAPHIC CHIPSET (Tell me this is Apple tech?) and INTEL PROCESSOR. I've never seen any APPLE PROCESSOR/GPU. Its is the Apple OS that makes the different and also the color chip processing on their display that makes color produce on Apples display near or same as production color.

Ur statements aim for general acknowledgement where APPLE has the greatest technology in all areas.

Take Apple iPhone 4S and do a benchmark with Nexus 4 / SGS3 / Note 2.

If not because of IOS, Apple iPhone technology is far behind the latest phone available nowadays. This is why APPLE shares has drop tremendously, because they are lack of innovation in h/w and s/w.

Go read up on google glass technology.
