QUOTE(aceedburn @ Jun 7 2013, 03:35 PM) yes it uses the same unifi infrastructure. however as default, maxis uses private ip and therefore you cannot connect with your cctv unless you request for a public ip. I did that but had to call the centre several times before they fiannly did it. after they activate your public ip, you have to change your username from xxxx@home.maxis, etc to xxxx@public.maxis,etc.... thanks dude, but I am not going to install CCTV |

QUOTE(LordDenning @ Jun 15 2013, 06:44 AM) If i already apply, consider bad move?I applied then 4 days later installer come and did the installation. After that i request maxis to suspend the account because house under renovation and I plan not to move in so soon. Don't know later in future the connection will be how good/bad? |

QUOTE(wiraone @ Jun 20 2013, 02:26 PM) I don't have much complaints about Maxis though I've just subscribe to the service. There was one when the VOIP went to unregistered and the support people quite helpful. Will see how it goes .. I was using UNIFI before. BTW, I'm using my own router now for Maxis FTTH since I've disconnected UNIFI service yesterday. All went smoothly well with my swap over from Maxis router to my own router. Bad thing we couldn't put OpenWRT into Maxis router, I have two in my house, the installer left his and didn't come and pick up .. Bro, so far how's the connection?Next project for me, move the VOIP from Maxis router to my old Linksys VOIP adapter. Or probably the best to just use the second voip port in the Huawei modem... |

QUOTE(vuetnam @ Jun 25 2013, 10:08 PM) If anyone has the experience of being cheated by Maxis, Astro or other telco, please do the following: good advise, hopefully i don have to resort to that stageStage 1: Consult the telco customer service first. Make sure they try their best to fix the issue/or fulfill your request( depending on yr request). If that cannot, try again till they do it. Stage 2: If the telco still unable to fix your issue even though you lodged many report or your report/case ID was closed without solution, report to SKMM at https://aduan.skmm.gov.my/eaduan_c/edaftar....FTOKEN=84894094 or http://www.nccc.org.my/v2/index.php/e-aduan . Stage 3: If you have done that but still the same, consult a lawyer, and issue a lawyer letter with printed SKMM complaint report letter and all evidence about your issue that unsolved to the lawyer company that you have chosen. Threat them till they refund or give you rebate on your bill or provide free bill or others etc. Stage 4: If they still refuse to refund, bring them to court. It will be you vs telco XXX. Goodluck on that. Hope this helps * PS: I have done till Stage 4, for two cases against Maxis.... |

QUOTE(alexjaya @ Jul 15 2013, 11:18 PM) You mention that your place have no Unifi. wow..now you have mention so many problem with maxis i oso started to have doubt. But i have already applied for it and my alarm system is designed to connect/works only to the technicolor router which i find it ridiculous. So you are stuck with StreamyX 4/8mbps or Maxis. My advise, stay away from Maxis for the following reason: 1 - If your area Maxis uses TM infra to provide service, everytime there is a problem it will take 2 times longer to fix because they have to escalate to TM and wait TM engineer troubleshoot. 2 - Their international speed (outside malaysia) very bad. 3 - Not possible to get full speed download without using a download manager 4 - TechniColor and Thompson router is a piece of crap 5 - Possible to change router (I have done it) but when ever have problem, they will blame your router 6 - Their 1st level support knows shit about troubleshooting, they only read from manual and doesn't understand technical terms. 7 - They advertise only download speed not upload speed, I have 32mb line. Upload is 15mb only. This is normal they say. 8 - They only provide private IP unless you request and can justify. I have Unifi Home, UnifiBiz & Maxis Fiber Biz 32mb. Both my Unifi lines are extremely stable (I use my own router). I am trying to switch my Maxis to Unifi but currently tied down to a contract. All other services Maxis provide (SHDSL, Mobile data, Telephony) I have no complains. They just should have not ventured into Fiber is they are not willing to invest in the infrastructure but want to rent from a company who provides the same service. Rumor has it TM always plays with Maxis lines so that users will switch to TM after having so many issues. I speak based on experience, you might or might not have had the same experience. No prejudice intended. Its a bad move i made for the alarm system. |
