Btw, dunno if you guys will consider this community service or not... Found Black Pearl, Queen Anne's Revenge and 8043 Motorised Exacavator with my supplier:

1. 4184 Black Pearl (Qty: 2) RM750-800
2. 4195 Queen Anne's Revenge (Qty: 3) RM850-900
3. 8043 Motorised Excavator (Qty: 2-4) RM1000-1050

The above is based on my estimate inclusive of shipping and import tax. I already tried nego but that's the final price since it is discontinued set. I'm so glad I bought a few sets of the excavator is December! Price will be finalised when cleared customs and whatever savings passed back to buyer.

8043 cost that much because it is an old and discontinued set. When I bought my 8043 last time it was well below 1k since it just came out and still in production. I do not think the MKII will cost more than 1k too since even the Unimog and crawler is still below the 1k mark when it was first released.

Same like Green Grocer, Cafe Corner where it is so @#$%$#@$# expensive due to it being out of production already.

Mostly nice set, price shot up sky high after discontinued. Hehe

No la... 8043 Motorised Excavator price shot up because it is a discontinued and highly desirable set. The Mobile Crane MKII shouldn't cost so much but I have yet to really explore the pricing. If you look at the piece count versus that of 8110 Unimog you should get an idea of pricing.... Perhaps other members can share some insights into the pricing?

Hmmm...given the size my guess will be between RM800-1000 if someone bring it in. (RM600-700 retail in USA/EU + RM100-200 for shipping and tax)

No need to rush for it la... It's a new release so it should be around for 2-3 years at least. Small sets have shorter product life cycle than bigger sets imho.

This is the latest update/rumour I know so far: 42009 Mobile Crane MK II has 2606 pieces and estimate retail at USD$220 in US. RRP expectation here will be (220 x 3 x 1.3) = RM850 before any discount. About RM800-900 
Let me update my own info on first page.

8110 Unimog (largest Technic set so far) has ~2048 pieces.

That would be about an increase of 558 pieces 27%

the stagecoach escape is awesome! 3 horse... 5 great minifig and a nice stagecoach! Totally worth it!

Bought for <RM500. Repeat: used set. Not yet ship it back, will take a long time before I can touch it.  If you want pneumatic parts only, suggest to just get it from Bricklink sellers. Way cheaper than paying premium price. But this 8455 comes with the most pneumatics so far ... 10x cylinder (47224c01) , 2x pump (2797c02) , lengths of tubes ... 

Ughhh... I just check Bricklink, the average price starts from RM20+ for new/used pneumatic-cylinder and ~RM10+ per pump). 10x means RM200+ already    not yet count shipping.

Actually, sometimes it's better to buy a complete set box and salvage parts from there. Much cheaper per part cost, and less hassle on ordering/delivery.
np    This set still in SG, pending shipping back to KL. In the meantime, I'm doing testing/mod on 8110 and 9398.

After nearly a week, it's finally done LOL. I LOVE it LOVE it LOVE it! 
Try to see if you're able to spot the minifigures. 

Yeah, pneumatic are more realistic like hydraulic. But quite difficult to control, and can't 100% remote, need long bunch of tubes. Otherwise, can create a motorized-pump and remote control switches, but that will need more motor and remotes. Will be huge and heavy.

Wow, thread is moving very fast and soon will overtake collectible minifigures series.
