These are audiout wakelocks. You need to identify each app that uses audio and uninstall it . Than reinstall back each one by one. At each reinstall , allow phone to idle for 30 mins and than see whether you see such wakelocks appearing. Continue to do so until you find the culprit app
Some said it is also due to user selected sounds in settings - try disable such sounds except for calls, SMS,MMS, mails, whatsapp etc
It is strange such apps will only affect certain roms/or even phone models only
i have this serious wakelock audiout problem only in my Butterfly and i traced it to Vol+ app; removing it eliminate these audiout wakelock. It was irritating than , for every hour phone is idle, this wakelock shows 1 hour active

this wakelocks 3-5 secs for my phone ... i think its because i set mp3 as a ringtone and sms. i only left adobe reader, whatsapp, m2u, all those bank apps, airasia, in my phone...

i think will set to normal tone

I have to say this, if you got any wakelock of few minutes /secs after a few hours of sleeping IT IS FREAKING NORMAL. A major issue is when your device do not sleep at all.

And from my findings, most audioout_2 wakelocks are not really wakelocks.

if u open the kernel logs using android tuner (ERROR Mode) then u will see there's bunch of weird error including those Audio/FaceDetection/Watchdog/Trace error code keep surfacing... it make me think those audio_out error are normal as long as it's not keep awakening the device... use the wakelock detector to check the top contributor then use the default batt stat to check you AWAKE trigger and you will see no matter there's lots of alarm from multiple app but as long as your batt stat show low AWAKE time then you should be ok... nod.gif

Agreed, but i did some searching online and some people really have insane amount of AudioOut Wakelock... most of them relate it to Viber app.

I have only 4m audioout wakelock on 10 hours battery time.. i guess its normal for me

Yeah thats normal. Audioout_2 wakelock is always there daily without fail since JB. But only in minutes for a whole day use. My finding is that the longer time i play games, the higher audioout_2 wakelock time. Hence i am sensing there is some issue of it being properly captured on samsung JB roms/kernel. Not all of it is actual wakelocks. One experiment someone recommended is play some music with the screen on, and you will see it will be captured in audioout_2 wakelock even though THE SCREEN IS ON. rclxub.gif

Few secs , even minutes should nor even consider it. Is normal. It is only serious if it say takes up more than an hour, say on phone idle ove 7 hours

For those that using latest perseus alpha 34, did your alarm clock went haywire?
for mine, it juz went off for 1-2 seconds then it turn the alarm off itself.....
n it happened after i update it to alpha 34 from previous alpha 29.
tried re-create alarm, but still happens. i configure 4 alarm n only 1 able to work properly (sound off for d normal duration). others juz rang 1-2sec then silent.

Nope no such issue for me. Try clearing clock app data.

guys... sometimes i read about the wakelock, the roms, etc... i gather that the main reason is to extend the battery life and let the phone last as long as possible on a single charge.

the thing is... do you guys also do the same for say... your car? do you guys go and learn to drive efficiently, plan out your route daily, avoid jams where possible, etc?

if one does that for the car (petrol consumption), chances are, you will save more money than doing what you're doing for the phone. no?

plus, i'm one of those that believe that if one wants to take care of the battery, then the battery should remained 'fully' charged as much as possible (fully here could mean like staying at 95% charge). draining battery till like 5% each day will only make the battery 'die' faster, no?

just sharing my views... dun mean to start a war here... biggrin.gif

it's a slow day for me... so decided to test out Swiftkey's Tilt function... Tilt function = tilting the phone to type...

Attached Image Attached Image

yup... it's NOT AN APRIL FOOL'S JOKE.

to get the function:
1. type tilt
2. long press on the word prediction
3. select the SWIFTKEY TILT option

tried it for less than 1 minute... you gotta be really crazy or have nothing to do to actually wanna type this way. as you can see from my screenshot above... i could hardly form a sentence. the ball was going all over the screen.
