When was the latest update done? Just try removing your battery for a few minutes and restart the phone. If it keeps bootlooping again perform a factory reset. If it still happens then send to service center.

Guys, urgent here.. My uncle's Note 2 can't connect to wifi though the signal is strong. It shows connecting, saved, connecting, saved.. But that's all it was. Why?

BTW, the XZ thread says that to achieve full control of the device, you need to unlock the bootloader, which effectively voids warranty.

To achieve the unlock you need to go to Sony website and it brings you to some form where you need enter your phone serial and/or IMEI. Sony then warns you about warranty void if you continue. So they have a record that you agreed to unlock and void warranty.

At least our current gen Samsungs do not do this except for the flashcounter which can be surmounted.

However I see that a similar situation of locked bootloaders will arrive due to the need for corporate security.

The current unlocked bootloader can no longer be locked again as the DRM keys are destroyed. Bye bye warranty.

saying about freeze i'm having the same problem as well...
sometime my wallpaper will turn black and freeze right after i unlocked my phone...wondering whether it is due to the latest firmware issue...anyhow...this happened quite frequent recently

my note 2 keep freeze and i need to take out battery everytime..quite often!!haih

That's the reason I sold off my note2 n wait for s4. My problem is email corrupted, msg content is of other sender while attachments and other details are in place. Another problem is with sPen which freezes when I begin writing and need to soft press the power button to get it out. My fren using has data problem which needs to restart the phone. I guess most smartphone will have some problems. Juz that I cannot tolerate it and sold it off.

Reading the few bad experiences of some users using the Note2 I just want to say such issues never at all faced by me in my previous n present unit
The phone has yet to hang on me even on custom Roms
The Note2 remains still my favorite Android till Note3 comes around

by plugging USB phone to pc.. i suppose u can see unwanted app files? i did it once unintentionally and i saw files such as viber, wechat still left there after i uninstall.. so i delete it like that...

So now you can judge phone that you have not even seen in real life already? Don't judge a book  by it's cover. Yes, I agree with andrewtho, your statement is not correct. The fact they had some bad units has got no bearing on the other users or even the Note 3 or S4.

Your question is too generic. How can anyone answer you? But I have this to say. If you need to do much more than what a smartphone can perform which by the way also addresses your other question before this, then it would be good to have one.

To many users here even spending rm40-60 they still want a better price just to save money. Many users here commit themselves to 12 or 24 month installments to get their dream phone. Not everyone has parents like snail..fingers who is willing to give him one time rm2k cash to buy what he wants. I am just pointing to him the harsh realities outside beyond the comforts of his home.
