from my experience,

if falken tyres, please buy either these 3 tyres model only, falken ziex ze 912 or Falken Azenis FK-453 or Falken FK-452,
never ever buy low end model like falken ze 322, 512 etc..will make headache. except u realy tight on budget.

for 192/55/15, u can choose only Falken Zeix ze 912, since the other 2 model didnt hve 15" spec.

so far im using falken ziex ze 912 for my last Proton Gen 2. the wet and dry grip is superb. only the noisiness a little bit loud. but let it be more safe rather than more comfort.

if u want safe and comfort tyre..need top up a bit ur budget, grab the Michelin PS3.

last time bought ziex ze 912 RM200/piece since it is a very new tyres, some shop can give u RM180/piece depending to manufacturing date

im using achilles atr sport 195/55/15...its a good budget tyre...braking n cornering(within speed limit) is good...cruising at 180kmh also get a good feedback from the tyre...

but during my touge session...i can see the weak point of the tyre...the "not really want to stop" feeling are there when hard braking...but i never locked the tyre tho...

other brands that i monitor closely rite now is neuton NT8000...its about the same price as achilles atr sport...

for 912,
depending on the series, 60/65 can clock up till 64k mileage and 40k mileage for 55 and under series, my experience with 195/55/15 my tire can clock up till 32k mileage, its depend or our driving style too bro.

azenis fk-453 dont try it yet since it only come for 17" rims upper. from the datasheet it show that 453 is ultimate high performance tire which mileage max can cloack up to 20k-30k only.

Just go for Indonesia or China made tyre. Sure cheap below rm200 even for 16" and some 17"model. Look for brands like Corsa, Archiles, Goodride, Neuton, Singa,

why 2x CC5?
also either hankook v12 if you don't mind the noise, cc5 or yokohama c drive 2 if you prefer to have better NVH

My Bad..I copy Paste the Tyre List from the Tyre Price List Posted here..

I Like the Current Hankook as can bear with the noise as satisfied with the GRIP.

Might check out CC5 and C Drive.

Don't go for Yokohama A-Drive but go for C-Drive 2 which is much better. A-Drive is like entry level, C-Drive 2 is more for mid-Range.

If you want balance between comfort, performance and noise level, this is the best in your list. Should be about RM240+/- per tyre.

V12 if u want better wet performance, but Directional Tyres tend to get noisy after it wears down.

Continentals CC range are comfortable tires that wear quite fast. Quiet but soft-compound.
I've had bad experiences with Falkens. They wear pretty quick but don't provide much comfort overall.
Yokohamas (c-Drive) are a good balance between comfort and durability. On a shoestring budget, I might aim for the Yokos. But that's just me.

cant say the same bout c drive, however c drive 2 are the softest and worst durability when compared to cc5 (cant say the same with falkens since i've yet to experience them and i probably dont plan to lol)

falken tyre mostly focus on performance tyre. there is a comfort tyre which is Falken Azenis PT722 but unfortunate only comes for 16" upper rims. and the prices also high.

for tyre 15" rims below. yes comfort wise falken is worst. i never tried yoko c.drive2 but my last tyre before using falken ziex ze 912 is yoko c.drive. imo, im more to 912, since i feel 912 give better handling and better grip than c.drive.. and since im using 195/55/15 the noise level is still acceptable. last time tried on Myvi extreme with 205/40/17 of falken 912 tyre. the hell very noisy..haha

currently im using car (preve) with 16 tyres..so maybe next time changing tyre, planning to grab yoko advan db or michilein ps3 if got enuf money. but if my money not enuf, will stick to falken 912 since it is a cheap tire (below Rm300 for stock preve tire spec) and i satisfied with it. even the stock tire for preve which is champiro bax 2 cost more than RM400.. sweat.gif

last time i bought on my local shop cost about RM200/piece include balancing and alignment.
u can get cheaper if bought at bigger tire shop..usually will cost around RM170 - RM200/piece.

if u looking for performance plus comfort indeed yoko c.drive2. since many review said it is a nice tire. cost a little bit more than 912.

If I not mistaken C Drive2, range between A.Drive & S.Drive. Price state Rm205 could be Rm200 only, I only trust Advan Neova series for Yokohama.

Why not you took Falken 912 Rm160, it way better than Falken 322 & 522. Currently use 522 for Wish 215/50/17 & Wira 195/55/15..

Before I decide to go there, I pay a several visit to tyre shop around my home area Puncak Jalil, Bdr Kinrara, Puchong & Sg. Besi the lowest price I get RM195 for 195/55/15 was GoodYear NCT 5, others trusted brand would not lower than RM225 & this not include hanky panky charges yet like this nut that, chamber adj & etc...

Tumpang thread, I'm going to buy a set of tyres since I just got a set of 15" rims.

In my local shop I saw there are two brands (excluding budget brands):
Bridgestone My-02
Falken ze912

which one is better for grip? I'm planning to drive hard on these tyres

EDIT: Tomorrow I'm going to survey at other shops at my area, see what other brands they have.

last time i bought on my local shop cost about RM200/piece include balancing and alignment.
u can get cheaper if bought at bigger tire shop..usually will cost around RM170 - RM200/piece.

if u looking for performance plus comfort indeed yoko c.drive2. since many review said it is a nice tire. cost a little bit more than 912.

is the thread for falken 912 is last long? well i dont expect much from comfort..as long the tire

I thought RM175 for Michelin XM2 is very good deal? You mean Taman Sri Sentosa? Or the school Sri Sentosa?

Yes Cheap edi to me after compared with michelin shop at my home quote RM218 each... diff Rm43 X 4 = RM172...
My advice, pay a visit tyre shop around your home 1st before U made any decision. If the total diff <RM50 (tyre cost), it not worth to go Klang but if above >Rm150 than Ok. This basic without hidden cost... U know & I know what is hidden cost are?

Location:

If you stand at Petronas..
Left Side + Petronas it self are Tmn Indah / Tmn Sri Endah
Right Side after empty land are Tmn Sentosa..

Base on my Wish 522 (Indonesia) can last <2 years, I use my wish as comparison coz Wish daily driving or even go to home town (Jerantut) & seldom drive to Lumut & Pasir Gudang. 912, if I not mistaken Thailand made & better than Indonesia made one.

my last 912 tyre for 195/55/15 spec last till 32k mileage. since last time almost every month travelling from KL to Kuantan and i usually speed more than 160km/h, maybe it reduce the lifespan of the tyre..according to brochure, for normal drive it can clock up till 45k.

like i mention before. the best cheaper falken tyre is 912, dont bother other model below it. 522 is much noisy than 912. tried on my bro waja, same spec.

and the flagship falken tire is FK453, but of coz expensive and dont have tire for small size rims.

175 for xm2 is sure very cheap. but for best grip and performance, PS3 is better option.
xm2 more to comfort and last long. not for performance.

dont forget to check the manufacturing date. sometimes they sell cheap tire becoz of last-last year product..if now 2013, 2012 tire still consider ok. if made on 2011, afraid later the rubber elasticity not as good as new.

last time i bought 912, the tire is still fresh made. come fresh from factory. i still remember i bought it around 1-2months from manufacturing date. that is why i feel 912 is a great tire. some said 912 sucks..maybe they bought the old set of 912 tire..dont know haha laugh.gif

I've had two sets of falken 912 195/55/15 on myvi. Good grip in dry, normal grip in wet. First set I paid 155each and second set I paid 170each. Shop is speedline sungai buloh. Last around 40k the only complain is quite noisy, only slightly better than Goodyear Nct.

Just changed maxxis ipro the same size for another myvi. Paid 210each at rawang. Damn good in both wet and dry, initially wanted Goodyear directional 5 but most shop don't carry that and the guy recommend me maxxis so I just give it a try. No regret so far as the noise level lower, both grip and braking better than falken 912.

last week survey around my workplace to change tire. currently working in banting.

price:

Dunlop D01 195/55/R15 = RM170
yokohama A.Drive 195/55/R15 = Rm170
bridgestone MY-01 195/55/R15 = RM170
goodyear NCT 5 195/55/R15 = RM175
Continental comfort contact 5 195/55/R15 = RM175
falken ziex 912 195/55/R15 = RM180
bridgestone turanza 195/55/R15 = RM210

there are other few brand that they offer, forgot the price already. then, there is one shop offered me new tire brand, golden bridge. model GB500 which made in indonesia. by looking at the spec, it's quite good.. temperature A, Traction AA. speed rating is 85V. only treadwear a bit low. 300 only.can assume it's soft compound tire. the most tempting is the price he offer me RM155 only. drool.gif

changed last weekend and already give a try at butterfly exit at putrajaya. more grip than falken ziex 912.. brows.gif

a bit noisy than falken 912. i guess it can last around 25-30++K KM only. now waiting to test the grip in wet condition.

kasi drill tayar satu...

Don't even try Silverstone. Hear like branded.
But quality worst.
I had try it twice (due to cheap price RM135 ea), both use around 1.5 years, then abnormal noise become very loud.
After checked. Found 3 of 4 tire get "bengkak" for 1st time, and 2 of 4 tire bengkak for 2nd time.
Don't even try it.
The other tire shop said only this Silverstone tire got such issue.

P/S: I am mild usage on driving, 70km per day only.

So far, so good. Noise quite bearable. Gripping so far, acceptable.
Haven't had the opportunity to try it hard, on wet road condition

Hi anybody can recommend me a good priced + service in JB for 195/55/15 tyre?
The tyre seems to love to plank, and just realized the tyre botak d... sweat.gif
And just realize the tyre year was 2009 and 2006 made.... shocking.gif
I just bought the car "second" 10 month ago, so kinda noob about car and tyre and overall... whistling.gif
So if anyone can advise a good tyre for my potong saga LMST 195/55/15 + good shop in JB please do notworthy.gif
I think budget wise below 250 each would be ok i guess
i'm planning to change all 4 tyre, since the back tyre is 2006 and 2009
So i can safely assume the front is also 2006 and 2009 if the previous owner rotate the tyre...
(Because the front tyre inside is outside and vice versa........)

Thanks bro for the info... Anyway, i got a quote for below tyre
Bridgestone ER30 RM176
Continental CC5 RM190
Goodyear NCT5 RM176

The fishy thing is warranty 1 year only for all tyre
(seems like he buys in bulk/supplier) but stated he sell 2013 make for this price.

Anybody can comment/advice/recommend?

CC5 vs PS3 vs XM2?
*
CC5 and XM2 are comfort and silent tires not good for high speed and conering. PS3 is more sport tire and can be noisy, grip is excellent. Middle road would be XM2.

Thanks for the feedback.

So in terms of noise, XM2 is better than PS3? I want tires which are very silent. But of course not compromising too much grip.

Priority:
1.Noise
2. Grip

The branded brand is Bridgestone smile.gif
Silverstone has no affiliations with Bridgestone, AFAIK.

when it comes to performance only, ATR sport 2 will absolutely destroy the XM2.

you're comparing achilles top of the line street tire and Michelin's basic tire?
and guess what, Achilles is still cheaper than Michelin.

Cause Michelin PS3 are not just Performance.. it is consider at the range of Performance + Comfortable.. That why ... It can be good in cornering, and it also can provide comfortable, and the last point, it also help saving petrol consuption as well...
*
then why you recommended XM2?

when it comes to good cornering, care to elaborate?
you do know ps3 sidewall damn soft and people that hard corners won't like it right?

and you sure PS3 help save petrol?

I suggest you think of Goodyear TripleMax. Worry free....
Quite good grip and rarely let down in performance.
Reasonable price.
But don't take Silverstone as it's a nightmare.
Take Falken only if it tyre is Made in Japan. Other than Made In Japan, it's below expectation in performance and durability.

Suggest you to take Michelin PS3 as I believed, the price difference between them are less than RM50.
I tested Michelin PS3, confidently said, PS3 is very good in grip on Dry or Wet.

afaik for that size, ps3 is in the 260-290 range.
c drive 2 is in the 200-230 range.

per piece sure, it isn't that much, x4 then it adds up.

in comparison, c drive 2 would be slightly better in nvh/LRR (yes LRR is advertised although it didn't have euro ratings)
ps3 would be better on the performance end (dry/wet grip and traction)

Looking for tyres?
Try this website mytayar.com.
As of now, there are 20 shops in Klang Valley feeding in the price into the website. The price shown includes valve, installation and balancing. Free alignment when you buy 4 tyres or more. No more rooms for overcharging cos all the terms and conditions are explicitly stated on the website.
Just key in the tyre spec on the website. Website will show tyre pricing from the workshops. You choose what is important to you; price, location, brand or specific pattern.
Just pay 5% online as deposit. The website will send an email with details of the shop. Pay the balance 95% directly to shop once work done. We monitor the shops so that they don't con the consumer.

We thank you for kind understanding.
