Anyone interested to have a gathering on April 7th Sunday? If you guys are interested I would like to plan one because I'm just getting into the audiophile scene and would love to be able to try and share our gear.

Our venue for this gathering will be at Starbucks @ Berjaya Times Square. And the time for the gathering will start from 1-2pm till everyone gets bored and have enough eargasms.

For those who do not know how to get there take LRT or KTM to kl sentral and than sit the monorail to jalan imbi.

Probably will be a weekend. Keeping options open, I'm interested in making 2 days if people can't make it for one day or the other. The location between kl and PJ both can reach by public transport

The International should be a good item, ALO did confirm with me that it pairs with sensitive IEM's nicely while still being able to drive most hard to drive headphones (barring HE-6)

I believe no difference though ALO did confirm that the latest batch of RX Mk3 did have their low gain settings lowered compared to their first batches as people have been complaining that the low gain was too powerful for CIEM's.

Awesome selection there, did you managed to get any balanced to balanced IC to pair the CLAS -db with RX MK3?

There is only one version and that is the ALO MK3-B.
the B stands for bass as the bass is adjustable.

I have the CLAS satcked between the MK3-B on the top and the Continental V2 at the bottom.
And no, I have to got down to getting it balanced as I would use a single ended output anyway so I don't think I will use balanced anytime in the near future.

i see, probably didn't pay any attention previously whether it had b or not; the mk3 i first auditioned way back then had bass boost adjustable and i loved it a lot

since e1 only can make it on the sunday everyone ok with making it on Sunday?

Just wondering what do you guys think of a multi purpose hall as a venue.

About the Red Wine Audio AK100 Mod, I got this message from iRiver:

I think you guys already known about “RWAK100”
Well, here are our mentions for this issue, please refer to it.

If you change AK100’s output impedance into 0 ohm (by taking off resistance)

PROS :
1. Sound become powerful.
2. enrich sound of high impedance
3. better balance for Armature unit drive earphone.

CONS :
1. Each headset has limitation of maximum output. By reducing impedance of AK100, there could be deterioration of headset and it cause short of circuit. In this case, it consume over 2W electric power and make damage of AK100 circuit.
2. When there is Static Electricity, it can easily damage of AK100. In this case, even it plays but there is no sound.
3. VOC and PL regulation issue will be happed by causing hypacusis and deafness.
4. Even it improves the sound power, it reduces smooth and delicate sound detail of AK100.

With these reasons, we do not recommend reducing impedance or any modification by users.
To prevent such unauthorized modification by end user, we use special screw driver for AK100. But if they carry out any kind of changes or modification by themselves and it cause any problem or issue, we are not obliged to provide C/S or A/S.”

However, there are two issues to consider if you want me to lug my 6 kg amp downtown:

a) it's a fully balanced amp, not usable with single-ended cans.
b) I need someone to bring a DAC to feed the Mjolnir - for personal reasons, I can't/won't go through the hassle of disconnecting and bringing mine.

Yea I know there are many who still buy them, it's beats after all, many casual would think they are the best headphone out there. Just wasn't sure if any in the audiophile section would have them.

If you ask, I can categorize it as audiophile headphone, i tried few high end headphone, more or less.. After all its the matter of taste. Listen the music not listen to gear

HifiMan plugs are standard so I have a spare silver/copper balanced cable you can use. Things is, even the Mjolnir may not have enough grunt to properly drive the HE-6.... but, hey, we could always give it a go
