what are the main difference ? i'm still a noob in this, yet i wanna know more regarding about it..

other than the motherboard difference (where you need better board to support 3820), and the Ghz is 3.4 for 3770 and 3.6 for 3820

and the price is ALMOST similar..

should i invest in 3770 now? or save up for 3820 in the near future?

In terms of performance there is actually no different between i7-3770k and i7-3820.. but Socket size does.

3820 allow you for future upgrade to i7-3930k or i7-3960x which is 6 core and 12 thread pros.

Since both 3770 and 3820 price is almost the same and budget allow for X79 board. I assume is a vice choice for 3820 which expand more future upgrades =)

If not just pick the i7-3770k which is top of the line Ivy Bridge currently.

Besides, 2011 socket don't come with Integrated graphic, 1155 socket Yes.

Price line for both procs almost the same, the only matter is 2011 socket's motherboard way exp compare to 1155 socket.

asking using of what.. if pure gaming.. better take i7 3770 ..than i7 3820 ..since both proc in gaming term single card ...noting differences

if have extra bujet or plan upgrade later. choose socket 2011 since LGA 2011 will also be compatible with future Ivy Bridge-E processors .. which dunno how many unit base Ivy Bridge-E

quick details about both proc

i7 3820 is entry level proc for socket 2011 nod.gif and it suppot 40 line pcie ..which good for extreme multi setup card like sli/cfx . gpu price can change quicky.... so... hehee whistling.gif

Multi Card -- 3820,coz X79 offer 3 way SLI or CF

Single Card -- 3770,but some high end motherboard also offer 8X+8X SLI / CF
