hehe seriously, when the phone just rm500-600, i still can afford and taken risk to buy direct from china, if rosak in few month throw it and never buy china phone.

but as the price touching rm1000 regardless buy in msia or direct from china, that just big money to me sweat.gif without local warranty coverage is really bad when buy rm1000 phone although the spec is so good sad.gif

My thoughts exactly. Other than its price, another issue that concerns me is the warranty. That's why I'm checking out the mid-range phones here. Don't think I can get quality phones at these prices if I were to go for mainstream ones.

100% agree with you. If local ASUS warranty is already BAD, what can we expect from the words of mouth of sellers who said "if anything you just send it to me and I will handle it from there".

Wah nice finally a place where people discuss china phones

I've been looking at them, particularly the mtk6589 specced ones that seem quite good for the price

i have a few concerns before I make a purchase thuogh

my main concern is battery life:
1) I've seen the pirated china li-on batteries for years, and they have always performed shoddily (e.g. a pirated psp battery claiming 3200mAh actually performs maciam 1800mAh only). are these brands' batteries reliable or not? I don't want to buy a phone that will run out of charge every 2-3 hours on standby
2) Any of these phones share the same battery specs as a big-brand phone battery? Means, any of these phones allow me to buy an original (e.g.) samsung note 2 batt and use it in the included battery's place?

Then reliability:
3) Will spoil easily or not? These brands, THL, Chilli, Xiaocai, so far production QC can trust? If spoil have to ship back... headache and waste money shipping
4) any alternative warranty options? E.g. any agent that resells these and bears their own warranty? I'm around the JB area
5) will explode or not? I treasure my bola.

i'm looking for a decent phone no more than RM 700, nak use for quite a while at work, i just want reliability and good looks nia. so don't want too big (pocket phone for work), maybe 4.5-5" display enough already. Was searching for mtk6589 on aliexpress, so was looking at THL W8, lenovo a820, amoi n828.

but dunno the brands la and how they perform, so not sure which to pick.

sorry for the questions, i've never used chinese brands before, so i'm quite noob here biggrin.gif

No.1- That rarely happens nowadays. The only smartphones with fake baterries now are super cheap clones. Even high end clones have real batteries now.

No.2- Not sure.

No.3- If you get one from the brands you mentioned, then you'll be fine.

No.4- There's Luna121245, and if you want, you can also check my store in my siggy.

No.5- Unless you use it while charging when the battery is pregnant, then no.

yea that does sound like a plan

is the goophone reliable? how many have you sold? what's the longest that anyone has used it, has it been problematic so far?

i'm around JB there, how do i get from u? extra postage how much?

also what are your warranty conditions?

edit: wait, the goophone i9 is 5.7 inches? i think that's a bit too big for my preference (i'll be doing an office job soon, wearing tailored-fit pants, don't think a 5.7 inch phone will look nice, or maybe even survive, being squeezed in my pant pocket

why, is this phone particularly good?

It's not particlarly an amazing phone, but it's a really good value for money. It is a huge phone though, so I can totally understand why some people just can't use it. You should PM me all your preferred specs and budget.
