Now that you all knew the default passwords for all kinds of DSL modems and routers, be sure to change it immediately to a more secure password. And, please don't use your default TMnet streamyx ones such as tmnet123 or TMM001.

You'd be surprise how many people don't even care to change their Streamyx account password, and people can simply use it to read your emails, change your account informations, or even worse use it to subscribe to Hotspots account, of which you'll be paying the monthly subscription fees.

Secondly, block access to the admin pages from WAN link. That way, only you have access to the administration pages locally. Oh, you think just because the password is hidden under asterisks we can't reveal it? Think again.

Thirdly, most DSL router have built-in firewall. Turn it on. Oh, your P2P stop working? Then learn to use IP filtering, or have someone with the knowledge to help you configure it. Firewall on the modem level will actually improve your internet speed because you already filter out those culprit from doing port scanning, denial-of-service, or port attacks on your PC.

In summary, use the default password to log in and don't wait to change it. Should you forgot the password, then factory reset the unit and reconfigure it again.

My modem is currently on bridged mode, and pc's are all connected to a wireless AP Router on DHCP. Please how do i login to modem from the router? currently i have to manually remove pc conection from the router and connect it directly
to the modem and only then i am able access the modem menu.

u can't to do like that,
but if you do pppoe mode on your modem ,
and in your wifi router u using DHCP ,
u can to access modem and router at the same time,
just type the ip address of your router and modem in address bar ,
