what with the introduction promo like TF2 style?

Not sure,coz lots of the game designer came from wow,everquest,turbine...but kewl intro eh? hehe

Yeah I kept tabs on this game since its announcement and totally forgot about it a year after. Now that it is getting more active, a lot of my members who stopped playing Guild Wars 2 and now waiting and hyping for this game.

Hope the beta comes out soon and hopefully it'll be in shown in PAX australia as well.

Yeah more details revealed and i'm more fond into this game,20/40m raids,holy trinity and hardcore stuffs.I'm getting more excited everyday to know the latest updates on this game.

Finally someone makes a thread bout wildstar...
if anyone love Sci-fi and 80's cartoon style might love this game.
To bad they going to release it end of this year, maybe because NCsoft want to milk GW2 first before releasing Wildstar.

Yeah no really many ppl know bout this game,some kind of below the radar but after the demo gameplay and videos of it,i think it's gonna be awesome,hopefully

seeing that it from NCsoft the payment model will be either pay-to-play or buy-to-play.
or maybe NCsoft want to try new strategy by going straight to free-to-play.

I'm hoping it would be B2P with subs model,got tired with all the crap end game contents F2P games recently.If it follow Wow's model i dont mind still.

Yeah, the only reason why I went hiatus too with GW2.
The end game was a let down.
Its repetitive and eventually boring and not rewarding.
When I play GW2 I always ask myself;
"Now what?" "Then what?"

Haha yeah i'm on the same boat with ya lol, according to the content designer for Wildstar,they will be focusing more on the end game content,not just leveling experience.Hopefully they're right

GW2 is fun but I dont really like fantasy theme mmo I quit last year, then play back SWTOR then quit that too last month... while playing swtor I keep thinking how awesome if the combat system like GW2... seeing Wildstar combat system almost like GW2, and even if wildstar end game same like GW2 also, i wont mind because its a sci-fi theme mmo.

Well, Before I got GW2 i went into the perspective of telling myself and my guildies that this game as a long term will only serve (just like gw1) those who are interested in WvW and PvP, as for PVE honestly with the new guild missions, my guildies have been doing it till the point of boredom as it doesnt have that much of a real achievement. So Yeah, most of my core members have now jumped shipped and we are waiting for WildStar.


Also btw, Beta will start next month, check the link that I quoted here, the developer says it himself.

I went MIA before the halloween patch came.
So not really much sure about GW2 anymore.
But still constantly patching it for unknown reason.
Hahaha.

I'm still wondering if I should play this game or not.
Gonna give it somemore attention before deciding.

anyway I always wanted a Sci-fi mmo + housing, i love the idea you can do alot things in you house then just good looks in wildstar, but i need more info like how you pay for it(housing), is it buy to play?

The purpose of closed beta is to try the game and tell the dev what's wrong/do u like the game? or tell them ur feedback of it.Also its like u try first before u buy it lol..

As for housing u will get it for free in the game.At level 6 or something u go to the housing vendor and buy ur 1st house plot,clear the land from any mobs and build ur camp there.
The business model is not yet announce but i'm hopeful it's a P2P model because the amount of contents they putting in is massive.

Yep, business model has not been announced but I believe Carbine Studios is really thinking hard about this one as they know pay to play models sometimes isn't successful when content isn't great or not releasing fast enough.

For me I wouldn't mind a P2P model but I'm pretty sure a lot would prefer Buy-to-play with a proper store (like GW2).

I wonder if i can turn my housing in a clubbing center. LOL

hope that NCsoft wont be greedy and launch this as P2P as Blade&Soul give them more return of investment than GuildWar2.
they should think of making this their 2nd B2P franchise.
but if they manage to release contents as fast as Blade&Soul then it okay for me.

I'm hoping for P2P with monthly subs as their business model.Keep out the kids from playing this game if it's F2P and then crying on how hard the contents is.

Watched the preview last night.

Sorry to say this is one of the most boring MMO I have ever seen that I fell asleep watching the preview and I am not joking or exaggerating.

The game itself really doesn't stand up to the expectations the outstanding trailer build up.

Instead of getting a colourful interesting world like the one showed in the trailer, we get "Welcome to The Barrens" in the preview.

Also, there is the feeling this game is trying so hard to be WoW to capture the players that prefer the original WoW feel.

Wildstar have this paths thingy, are we allow to change them in between or once we pick upon character creation we are stuck with it?

Would be a pain to create a new character just to go different path

From the info i know,u can't change the path once u already choose it.But don't know how its gonna be in the release.We have to wait and see.

Well they're showing that particular zone for the dominion player area in that video/beta.It will have the zone that they're showing in the trailer.
That dev guy also said that demo build is 3 months old,prolly they have new build they gonna been putting in the closed beta.

Well yeah it may well not be to everyone taste,but i don't mind the graphic or zone settings as long their contents is good.

I just watched (skimped) the demo from totalbiscuit. Not impressed with the melee combat of 2 of the classes shown.

Combat is slow and doesn't seems smooth.

Looked okay to me from the video,although we haven't try it ourselves.
What do u mean by slow and not smooth?

Combat pace is slow.

Action bar only 6 or so skills I think? Combat might be stale. I couldn't stand TSW 6 or whatever it was buttons only. GW2 was a lil better with 6 + 4 utility & elite, but situational / high cooldown for most of them.

Telegraphs are easy to avoid early game so fun has to come from pulling off dps rotation. Hopefully more buttons to push with low cooldown.

But haven't seen anything that wows me, yet.

Oh no no , don't misunderstand. I'm sorry I got that out by mistake. That was my fault for not typing that out properly. My bad.

I mean that "I guess.. it is okay to say I'm selected" was referring to, if you get invited to a close beta, it should be okay to say that you were selected, but not allowed to explain and show people about the detail and game of WildStar since it is NDA.

-- However referring to my correction , I think you aren't suppose to even say that you are a close beta under the NDA anyway.

If I recall, the action bar allows you to put 10 skills, but can be swapped depending on what skills you want as you gain them. According to Total Halibut's 1st video about WildStar.

According to the 'leaked' beta patch notes, the action bar skills down from 9 to 7.They're still testing it to get more feedback from the beta testers.

The dungeon has a vibe of RFK/RFD to it, but looks impressive though.
