Monster hunter is a great game for on off style gameplay.. hunt a monster or 2 while on the move.. I do this everyday on the 3DS.. you can pause anytime during gameplay (for solo though, you will disconnect on multi)... It depends on you really.. I rarely at home.. Have very little time to play home console during weekdays.. so 3DS is for me..

with wii u, the advantage is, you can play online through internet with other player in this forum.. very good especially if you don't have any other friends nearby that can play with you locally..
