Here's the story. This is the 3rd clinic I went to. The first one was out of stock. The second one said I needed to she the doctor, but I can purchase medicine if it's in my records. So she checked and said okay it is in my records. But bila check, no stock. This is Mediveron clinic in Selayang Jaya btw. Bloody unprofessional I tell you. Masuk only got curry smell. I'm not being racist, but you're working in a damn clinic, stay professional.
The staff all macam bodoh2 don't even know how to check records.

Anyway, I proceeded to the 3rd clinic. I said I wanted Aznthromycin, and I wanted the meds only, didn't wanna see the doctor. I told them if you're gonna make me see the doctor, I'd rather you call the previous clinic for my records. The staff said okay, they'll sell the meds to me.

After checking if it's the right meds, I agreed to buy it. And they charged me RM75! No consultation, just meds! IINM I've bought this at around less than RM50 before.

Okay rant complete. Now the main purpose of this thread, how much does Azithromycin 250mg cost? Brand name: Zithromax.

I wanna confront the clinic, it's just wayyyy too expensive.

Last time near my place got, but then they said now need doctor's prescription.

Edit: That time I needed it badly before my tonsils get even more inflamed. Regardless of what price they sell also I needed mah drugs! lol

I got it like every 2 months, at one point it wont go down and giving me breathing difficulty which is why doc recommend me to do the surgery.

Recovery period for me is like 2 days only - this one depending on your own body healing mechanism.

Average is 1 week of no solid food.

I cannot even go 1-2 days without solid food

Where'd you get yours done? How much did it cost?

last time i once kena tonsilitis, i went to klinik medivon at bukit jalil. i went to c doctor, doctor provide me a antibiotic for fever + throat pain and pain relieve candy. it cost me rm70 the first time.

but i got carried away and ate a nasi lemak that day because i felt better. next day another tonsilitis pop out on the throat LOL. that time maximum pain d. eat oso kenot eat, regret liao.. i went to the same clinic the next 2 days, doctor geleng kepala and provide me an even stronger antibiotic for throats, honey candy(pure) and a bottle mouth washer. that cost me rm80.

both includes doctor consultation.

but i think suan liao lo, for health.. burn money once a while lor.. if u wan to mind for a couple of bucks, next time karma hit u and u masuk hospital instead.. the cost is more pain.. sabar bro.. think of its as a tribute for good health

Lol dude I don't think you understand the situation. I don't mind spending on meds if I need too, the only problem is that I feel I got ripped off, that's all. And your karma logic is beyond imagination to be honest.

What antibiotics did your doctor prescribe you anyway?

I'm open to trying any. However I've only been given azithromycin and erythromycin so far. And azithromycin seems to do the job, as of now

Oddley enough my daughter and I have just got back from the GP. Three days of fluclox 25)mg TDS, ten paracetamol for children and some throat lozenges and some ointment for an unrelated problem total = 40 MR.

can try tablet augmentin 625mg twice daily for 5 days.

Are those antibiotics? Should I take them now?

no, not now. next time if you ever need it for your tonsils.

but looks like it keeps recurring. why not consider removing them?
