Hi,

My 4yo daughter is currently enrolled in a Fungates, she has been attending pre-school since 3yo. Truth be told I think she is doing ok, but I do feel that the school fees is a little expensive compared to other pre-schools.
My son is 2 yo now, and I am now considering to try out another school, and there is a Smart Reader near my place too, with cheaper fees. But I have not tried Smart Reader before, can anyone out there with kids attending either school provide your opinion on this? Thanks a lot.

p/s: I stay in Sungai Long/ Bandar Mahkota Cheras.

I feel that my daughter really benefited from her 1 year in pre-school last year. She gets to socialise and interact with friends, go on field trips, learn about things and be independent. There is more fun and play than academic, and she likes it.

My nieces went to FunGates Jln Ampang since three years old and I found their English foundation is very good, especially phonics and basic grammar.

I went to their graduation concert and their performances were high standard. Can you imagine your 6 years old kid performing 'dikir barat' with perfect synchronization?

I also like the concept that the founder is doing charity and feeding the homeless. A small percentage of your school fee goes into this foundation.

Therefore TS, if you can afford it, why don't stick back to FunGates?

Hi, anyone has more information about kindergartens in Sg Long area? a few friends of mine recommended Brain Dance. Their children were very happy in that school and benefited a lot from their English program, even years after graduation. I am thinking about it but it is quite expensive too. and i heard that the traffic in that area is quite bad in the morning.

I heard they are doing charity too, sponsored 6 希望公程 schools in China. is that the recent why the fees are high??

anyways, i am thinking of going over for a look.

Tadika Sri Perdana far more expensive and location wise is at Taman Cheras.

From Mahkota or Sg Long traveling go Sri Perdana better think thrise of the heavy traffic.

Besides the fees and charges are really jaw breaking from 2-3 years old. 4 years old no need to check unless if can afford.

This is just kindergarten not a international school.

may be you want to check out BRAIN DANCE.
i sent my daughter to 'My Montessori' in Sungai Long last year and it was not good. I pulled her out after a month. now she is turning 5 so i have been visiting and comparing for a kindergarten.
My friend is a teacher at primary school batu 11 , she recommended brain dance, said quite a number of the top students graduated from Brain Dance. i talked to some of the parents and they are quite happy with it. i went to see and it is clean and big and the syllabus is quite attractive. I have registered my daughter to start in January.

My boy and his mates are all from 'Fungates' (12 years ago), in my humble opinion you pay for what you get...la

All of off them are favored in school (where my son is registered) because of their communication skills.

eh...I should let you guys know that I am a high involvement parent =) not a dump the kid in someone else's lap and let them worry about developing the child type.

I would imagine if you are a discerning parent you would know which is right for you.

My daughter is currently in a kindy in USJ whereby they are using FunGates system.
It depends on the child actually, but my wife feels that this kindy using this FunGates doesnt seem to bring improvement to my daughter.
I'm not saying the kindy is bad but my wife is telling me to change to other schools.
And somewhat sometimes my daughter is reluctant to goto school. But I dont blame it entirely on the kindy fault

Currently paying Rm 420 which includes Mandarin as standard in their syllabus

Previously my daughter was in Real Kids but moved her out due to we were moving house. Real kids is good, but abit pricey.

Will check out Smart Reader kids and see whats it all about
