super comp is not for sale? if somebody is selling then the price should be how much? billion ah?
20 years ago, Shell in Holland HQ owned a Cray XMP SuperComputer.
It cost them around 300Mil USD.
Now, I'm not sure where is it already. Probably retired already, Cause it was known to make crazy noices + heat.
Now, The only Craziest computer room that i ever attend will be SSB, Sarawak Shell Berhad.
They have More than 7 chillers, which kept the room below 15c.
The air coming from the floor will easily harden any small fluid.
SSB contains a lot of Dell PowerEdge, HP, IBM X eServer, Hitachi Data System drives and etc.
Wait till you come, and you will see how magnificence this computer room that is.
Every server rack there each blades/server contains 16GB RAM, Intel Xeon 5 Series Quad. (you can imagine how much of computing power in it, consider Shell has more than 80 Rack mounts, each drives is 24TB by the way, using eSATA fibre optics, or just SCSI. More than 1000TB is known to exist there.)
Only the high end workstation uses nVidia Quadro FX5600, around more than 2000 units is using them, with SLi just to do seismic simlulation.
There's even a room dedicated for 3D simulation where you wear the google and go for a crazy 3D simulation.
Overall, if you want to visit a computer room, SSB will be your perfect choice.
