I've just finished watching episode 1. A bit girlish but the arts fantastic and the story line hold's some interests for those who just want a reality based anime |

It's typical Ai Yazawa artwork if you read the manga. Dunno about the anime though. I haven't preview it yet.

hmm, just watched the anime, somehow dissapointed me a lil bit, especially the sound casting, too much difference compare to movie (dammit, i like aoi miyazaki's version ) but it is no like other ordinary anime, this one is nice (if u read the manga, u will know), worth a try |

I didn't quite like the drawing of the manga, so I didn't start on it yet. The movie wasn't that interesting to me either, so I might just pass this anime. Or if I see more positive feedbacks from you guys, then I might start on it.

in the manga Reira is supposed to have grown up in the states...so i guess they have to get someone who can speak english instead of engrish...to me the best casting is Yusa...the botak lawyer cum rocker ....shouji looks a bit out...reminds me of the Siu Keong(Pet Cockcrouch) owner in the TVB show with Dodo Cheng |

Mika is perfect for Oosaki Nana role....she's already wild and cool in the first place..who do you think can play Nana better? Anna Tsuchiya? Don't know if aoi miyazaki is trying too hard to be cute, but the character Hachi is supposed to be the girl who tries too hard to please her bf...as far as I'm concerned, Hachi is cute...and Shouji sux...
the anime is pretty good..animation well done..but the lighting is wierd, too much light on the side of their face, know what I mean? makes the face looks too shiny...

For anyone who hasn't yet watched the series-
NANA is definitely one of my favorite anime series. If you enjoy real life drama shows, then this series is probably something you would like. If you are in the anime genre for Mecha, Magic, Fan Service, or generally more light hearted or fantastical series then this is not something you will probably enjoy.
Most of the story lines center around relationships, emotions, life hardships, and similar things. Though there is plenty in the anime that is very funny and entertaining as well. I very much enjoy the characters for their realism. There isn't a Mary Sue in this series. Every character has a history that is believable, and personalities that have both good and bad qualities. They and the situations they find themselves in, despite possibly a little out there... obviously most people aren't famous and have a record deal, but they are close enough to real life to be empathized with.
The movies are good, but I felt (as I feel with all Anime movies) that everything was a bit rushed.
NANA the movies, Manga, and NANA the anime series are licensed now in the United States by Viz Media. The movies have been produced and subtitled in English and if are not available, then should be available quite soon. The Anime, though licensed, the company who bought the title for English release have yet to say anything on a date of production. If you computer is fast enough members of Youtube.com have uploaded the complete series subtitled in English.
The music, as other posters have mentioned, is quite good. Anna Tsuchiya and Olivia Lufkin's voice talents are amazing. Here are the titles, most can be downloaded from Gendou.com or from Livewire.
