AP sets with 2 years warranty, a shop you can play with the phone, got free gifts somemore and the best part is cheaper than what you are buying now. Really double standard kid.

Eh...it's ap....

Ap doesn't have NFC..... brows.gif

S3M is mini sim, S3 is micro sim, maybe you are confused. How old are you anyway? You buy no warranty phone might as well get AP set. Does the ori set  with no warranty make a difference to you?
*
Oh thanks for telling me that s3 mini is mini sim.

Btw, I'm sure that is ori set. Not ap. It do have NFC, ap set does not have NFC. smile.gif

I think all new S3 Mini comes with NFC regardless AP or not. And how do you define AP and SME? Those old stocks maybe no NFC.
*
Really meh ? Even though new ap set also got NFC ?

But it doesn't matter now, I bought the phone already. Just forget about other price and enjoy my phone ! Yay ! icon_rolleyes.gif

@limyuyang alreadt stated how i save my battery in .. u can look @ few pages back i have already explained many times.. of course without airplane mode overnight.

2-3% is normal for every s3 mini .. disable bloatwares will save more battery juice

u can also consult joytest sifu for more about wakelocks, bloatwares.

also, i repeat again, read note2 first page and you'll get all infos there. i repeat, READ it

doh.gif An original is an original. We have abused the term "ori" and "AP" in bolehland to mean rather different things. Just because you bought it in Bangkok does not make it "AP" or "non-original" if it is a GENUINE Samsung product. It is the same item whether in Africa or here.

AP = Approved Permit which is used for foreign car imports. We just slipped the use of the term "AP" to mean anything that isn't imported by the official channels. An "AP" set is therefore simply a parallel import or grey market set, which are the correct terms.

A fake is a fake. It is made to look like the real thing but the insides are totally different and usually inferior spec and/or quality.

@joytest, i dont think he understand fully what you're trying to explain. Thats why he is so proud of his ori set from Bangkok. Nevertheless his NFC reason is logical.

Whether AP or SME, it's an original Samsung phone. In short, SME unit paid import tax while AP unit don't paid import tax. Latest AP unit already comes with NFC and there's a sticker stated NFC in front of the Box, I do agree that some shop may still have some old stock of non NFC unit so you can easily tell from the Box itself.
I am more concern with the warranty actually, an AP is just about the price of what Yuyang have bought in Bangkok and if he is a frequent Bangkok visitor he don't have to worry if anything happen to his phone.
Therefore if there's problem with the phone, he either send it back to Bangkok to his cousin for warranties or pay some shop to get it fix in Malaysia.
Anyway, it's too late since he already stated he have bought 2 model of Samsung which it can easily bought in Malaysia with merely the same price and easier warranty claims.

normally my battery will be at 45%++ marks everyday after works (6 pm)
with heavy music player and few sms. no data plan. only use wifi if available.

check my wakelock using wakelock detector. seems ok. fixed my mp3 file with mp3val frontend. all seems gooding.

Seem you have good battery life for normal usage smile.gif.
For bloatware, you have 2 choices. Root or not root ways smile.gif.

For not rooted. Go to setting> application manager> all. There you can see option to disable some apps. Rooted, i used titanium backup to freeze or delete it brows.gif

It is not really confirm whether this "SDS" can be fix by upgrading to the new FW, some may even SDS instantly after upgrading and some may still encountered SDS after upgraded to the new FW. It may caused by certain defective MOBO since it was in mass production last time on certain batches of S3 unit. If you read the S3 thread you'll know what I mean.

I know about the sds, that's why i choose note 2 instead of s3 smile.gif. For most cases, all stock now are new batches free of sds.

Not really, some shops or telcos may still have older stocks of S3, ask "Girl83" coz if I am not mistaken she bought an old stock from one of our telcos which is an old stock. It's depends on your luck whether you purchase a later batch of S3 which they claims SDS free and SME won't gonna replace you a set if you don't have a valid SDS problem on your Phone.
I would opt for a Note 2 if budget permits but some people may prefer a smaller screen.

Mine is 1.4 so i guess free from SDS.. SDS persists for 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 .. from 1.4 to 1.5 no more SDS..

In case SDS, i will just send for warranty and i will give to my cousin again then i will get Note 2 & 3
