This Xperia Z is the most picky phone I ever had for charging. The reason it doesn't charge is if the cable and charger combination is a usual USB connection without data lines connected, the Xperia Z will ignore charging. You can see the phone stop charging when you put your laptop in suspend mode, whereas all my other device will charge. Hence it's not playing nice with my generic Belkin charger.

I believe to make it work, the data line need to be pulled to ground or have resistance between one of data line to ground (like how the phone detects proper wall charger).

The anti shatter film does not add integrity to the glass, if the impact will break the glass, having the film will break as well. The film can avoid injuring the user when the glass is already broken.
