Hello, I deciding to get a S3 for my wife since her Samsung W is so dreadfully lag sometimes. AFAIK, the S3 comes with 1GB ram but a Maxis(Maxis Gardens) sales representative told me it's 2GB ram, am I missing something or the S3 are stocked with 2GB ram already?

Only S III LTE is 2GB RAM. It is I9305 not I9300.

I not sure Maxis already start selling LTE version of S III or not. If not, then they is no LTE version in Malaysia yet except AP set.

Edit: Just check Maxis site, http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/4gdevices...asp?iStruct=0:0 they is no LTE verson for S III.

Thanks for your reply, that's what I learned also since our SME sets are not 4G(LTE) version. Guess the Maxis's Salesperson are giving me wrong information then.

Ok, thanks for the info. Sounds like the Kies works like iTunes in terms of backup and restore.

My wild guess for s4 will be in between 2199 to 2299 and till December might be 1999.

As for S3 to be precious not simply quote, now AP is 1199 and SME will be 1399, immediately S4 launch this price will retain but 2-4 months later will be 1159 for AP and 1359 for SME... and going down steadily below 1000 for AP and SME around 1100 - 1300..

Just a guess... laugh.gif

Guess a used set may probably lower than 1K while a new SME set will be around RM1099 or 1199. Just bought a new SME set from a forumer here yesterday at RM1180.

AP set right?
*
Nope, it's a genuine SME set. It can be registered with E-warranty and there's a E-warranty sticker on the box itself. Just the seller redeem it from his Citibank card point and need money urgently, so he sell it at a slightly lower price.

Yes. and because the S3 had this 'sudden death' issue that affected some of the earlier devices and it's due to faulty chips. So it's just to test whether you're having the old chip that is susceptible to the sudden death issue or not. Which in this case looks like you're not. So it's a good thing. But even if you are, Samsung will replace the faulty motherboards without any question as long as it's still under warranty from them.  smile.gif

Thanks for the details, what a relief to find that my device is not a defective chip.

Have you try other phone to connect to your office's wifi? If it can be connected by other phone, there's a few possibilities that you can't connect to it:

1) You may have key in the wrong password
2) Your company may have set some wifi's limitation or security settings to the router itself
3) There's no internet connection on your wifi router

You can try to delete the previous wifi connection setting and reconnect again(make sure your password is correct).

One question, I already registered my S3 through the Malaysia's Samsung website, do I still need to perform the E-Warranty registration?

From what I read, they will put a sticker in your phone to show that your phone has been rooted. They could also enter it in their system. So, do it before you bring it in.
*
The SC will easily check your Phone serial number and blacklist the rooted phone, which means the warranty will be voided forever whether you come back the next time after unrooting.

Oh, thanks. Kinda confusing, since it's a revision why don't they just name it as 4.1.3...lol. Gonna try the OTA update tonight since my wife have hijacked my S3 and leave me a Samsung W now..sad.gif

i experience the same thing before. can go into download mode but cannot recovery mode. if boot just stuck in Smasung i9300 screen. i think is sudden death issue. send in for replacement.

The Sudden Death is cause by the infamous "insane chip"? Or it's common problem to all the S3 out there?
