QUOTE(nokia6280 @ Apr 14 2013, 01:57 PM) Meaning you are a pro? I guess you should take back what you have just said. For me I don't go for Custom not because I am a noob but I am enjoying stability for what Stock offering.. Custom is stable but not as stabile as stock. BTW, my charger gives me 1000A, but there's a slight hissing sound from it. Anybody has this too? |

Does anybody have problems playing videos in the FB app? I can play it, but I can't pause it or go fullscreen or rewind. Pressing on the controls does nothing.

QUOTE(tigerporc @ Apr 15 2013, 07:45 PM) BL!Tz^_^ From my experience with 1U SC, no need to show proof. Just describe the problem, they will flash official firmware for you first. If still face problem, they will replace motherboard.IMHO, it would be a help if you can sort of show or replicate the problem to the Samsung Service center staff. I had a post in the previous thread for my case where I got the motherboard replaced on that day itself. I wrote down in problem description that I had already flashed 4.0.4, 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 with no apps but freezing still happens (I also played with phone while waiting until it frozed and showed to the service center staff.) Failing that, maybe you can take a video of the phone when it has (I don't know if it helps but someone on XDA had tried it and it succeeded for his case) All the best, good luck. QUOTE(BL!Tz^_^ @ Apr 15 2013, 08:06 PM) thanks for all the replies/suggestions/opinions... Lowyat Samsung SC closed for renovation, only handles pickup, no repair items accepted.i bought it on 1st of september 2012 will try to go to lowyat samsung sc tomorrow and ask if it is possible to change it since my friend is going too(his wifi hotspot doesn't work) maybe i will sell it after the warranty period... it's my first smart phone and feel a bit disappointing about it QUOTE(CyaNide27 @ Apr 15 2013, 10:47 PM) I read this online article that says white colour handsets were more fault prone, is it true with s3 users here? In a way, it is true. The white and blue were launched first, and blue had some problems with delayed stock, so white sold the most. And this mobo problem was prevalent with the earlier batches, so indirectly white is most affected.http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/news/mobile-pho...hones-revealed/ But i'm also wondering about the credibility of this article tho.... BTW, on an unrelated note, I went to 1U Samsung and tested all the S3 demo units (about 6 or 7, all sorts of colours). All of them had HW Rev MP 1.100. |

QUOTE(Joelles @ Apr 16 2013, 10:55 AM) Oh, thanks. Kinda confusing, since it's a revision why don't they just name it as 4.1.3...lol. Gonna try the OTA update tonight since my wife have hijacked my S3 and leave me a Samsung W now.. Samsung cannot suka-suka change the Android version lar... otherwise they can jump to 5.0 and users rejoice at the apparent major OS upgrade |

Anybody knows where to buy cheap OEM battery cover? Found this one, about RM24... if white or blue, can easily find about RM16...

QUOTE(Joelles @ Apr 16 2013, 02:01 PM) Now this is scary, didn't aware that the S3 have this sudden death prob as I just bought mine last week.. You bought new unit? Only early batches last year were affected.QUOTE(girl83 @ Apr 16 2013, 02:02 PM) I think we expected this from you. So what was S2's price last year at this time after S3 was announced? SDS issue only affects early batches, and then it is only a small number of units, so I don't think price drop is caused by it.QUOTE(dentalfloss @ Apr 16 2013, 02:23 PM) bought my s3 at senQ.if my s3 gt faults,cn i just bring the phone to samsung centre without bringing the senQ receipt? where is the service centre in KL areas? If your phone is registered with Samsung via eWarranty, no need to bring receipt. |

QUOTE(Joelles @ Apr 16 2013, 02:45 PM) Mine's a new unit bought from a forumer where he claim from his CC point, not sure wheather it's one of the early batches or not. Anyway to check the manufacturing batch? I think yours is safe. Check by pressing this at the dialpad: *#12580*369# at the last line, HW Rev.: MP 1.100 is the one with bad board. MP 1.400 or MP 1.500 are safe.Or, you can download eMMC app from Play Store to check. Just get the first app match when you search for 'emmc'. Bear in mind that only a small amount of sets with bad board will have problems... otherwise Samsung's image will have already gone down the drain and will be almost bankrupt from all the suing it gets from users. QUOTE(nokia6280 @ Apr 16 2013, 02:41 PM) I asked Samsung call center before where Samsung only cover 12 months and the remaining 12 or 24 months is not under them. So my question is that additional 12 or 24 months is SenQ fix or still under Samsung??? I never heard of anyone claiming warranty for 2nd and 3rd year before Anyway - either they repair themselves (unfortunate), or they send to Samsung to repair and they absorb the cost (fortunate). |

QUOTE(Joelles @ Apr 16 2013, 02:51 PM) Ok, thank you very much. Will gonna check with the dialpad tonight, as for eMMC result which I have downloaded earlier, I got a "sane chip". Some forumers in here claims that I am safe from the defective chip problem but now I heard that this is about the motherboard defects thingy. Oh, then yours is safe. Motherboard thingy is the same as this defective chip issue. It's the flash memory card built into the motherboard. If the issue cannot be solved with software, they have to change hardware, which means changing the whole motherboard since the card is built-in. |

QUOTE(botakbin @ Apr 16 2013, 10:58 PM) I tested with a couple of apps. I started AppSales, pressed home button so it runs in the background. Launched AppSales again, it's where I left off (shown in Task Manager). If I press back button, and launch AppSales again, it starts all over again (not shown in Task Manager, app closed with back button). If I press home button, and swipe it off the recent apps list, and launch it, it starts all over again (not shown in Task Manager, swiping from recent apps closed it). QuickPic was the same.RAM usage also dropped once I swiped an app off the recent apps list. Regardless of how I stopped it, the app does not show in Applications Manager -> Running, but the app info in Applications Manager - > All will have the Force Stop button enabled, indicating the app is still running in some form. This probably explains how certain apps like Wechat and Whatsapp are always running no matter how you exit them (short of force stopping). This post has been edited by Dannyl: Apr 17 2013, 09:02 AM |

QUOTE(tigerporc @ Apr 17 2013, 03:32 PM) I am also a user since end June 2012; cable gave problems about 2 weeks ago. And charger warranty I think is a max of 6months only or maybe less (3 months?) Accessories are covered for 6 months only QUOTE(Joelles @ Apr 17 2013, 04:36 PM) No wonder I didn't see any significance on speed even after updated to the latest FW(4.1.2 2nd revision), I am using the GO Launcher... GO Launcher is from Froyo/Gingerbread days. ICS onwards should try Nova, Apex, etc. |

QUOTE(BL!Tz^_^ @ Apr 17 2013, 11:14 PM) thanks for the info bro... According to the SC, other than LYP, it's 1Utama, or Federal Highway. The FH one handles ALL Samsung products, not just handphones, so it's a longer queue and repair time (I was told).mine is weird...it works pretty well with no issue at all when i removed the sim card in these 2 days.... btw, where is another samsung sc? my friend's wanted to send his unit to sc due to hotspot problem If I were you, I'd get it looked at, just in case... don't want such thing to happen when I want to make an emergency call or anything... |

QUOTE(tigerporc @ Apr 18 2013, 12:37 PM) USJ City Mall (previously known as 19 Digital Mall before almost all the IT shops moved out and the re-brand happened) Maybe one day I will go there and try. But, less people also means less experienced technicians as they don't get 'play' with malfunctioned phones as much Don't see customers at all whenever I ever pass by... wonder how's the quality of service. Do try out an let us know |
