Like someone said, if you don't mind the size, Note 2. I need to jog with my phone (Runkeeper), so S3 for me. Note 2 simply attracts too much attention.

nod.gif I've flashed SuperNexus and ARHD, now back to stock everything with zero counter for that genuine stock feel. Don't know when my hands will get itchy again for root access smile.gif

BTW, my charger gives me 1000A, but there's a slight hissing sound from it. Anybody has this too?

Does anybody have problems playing videos in the FB app? I can play it, but I can't pause it or go fullscreen or rewind. Pressing on the controls does nothing.

I had a post in the previous thread for my case where I got the motherboard replaced on that day itself. I wrote down in problem description that I had already flashed 4.0.4, 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 with no apps but freezing still happens (I also played with phone while waiting until it frozed and showed to the service center staff.)

Failing that, maybe you can take a video of the phone when it has (I don't know if it helps but someone on XDA had tried it and it succeeded for his case)

From my experience with 1U SC, no need to show proof. Just describe the problem, they will flash official firmware for you first. If still face problem, they will replace motherboard.

Lowyat Samsung SC closed for renovation, only handles pickup, no repair items accepted.

In a way, it is true. The white and blue were launched first, and blue had some problems with delayed stock, so white sold the most. And this mobo problem was prevalent with the earlier batches, so indirectly white is most affected.

BTW, on an unrelated note, I went to 1U Samsung and tested all the S3 demo units (about 6 or 7, all sorts of colours). All of them had HW Rev MP 1.100.

Yeah, closed since last week... the next nearest is probably 1Utama (phones) and Federal Highway (all Samsung products).

I think we expected this from you. So what was S2's price last year at this time after S3 was announced? SDS issue only affects early batches, and then it is only a small number of units, so I don't think price drop is caused by it.

I think yours is safe. Check by pressing this at the dialpad: *#12580*369# at the last line, HW Rev.: MP 1.100 is the one with bad board. MP 1.400 or MP 1.500 are safe.

Or, you can download eMMC app from Play Store to check. Just get the first app match when you search for 'emmc'.

Bear in mind that only a small amount of sets with bad board will have problems... otherwise Samsung's image will have already gone down the drain and will be almost bankrupt from all the suing it gets from users.

I never heard of anyone claiming warranty for 2nd and 3rd year before laugh.gif after first year, you have to go back to SenQ or Harvey Norman or whatever shop it is which has extended warranty.

Anyway - either they repair themselves (unfortunate), or they send to Samsung to repair and they absorb the cost (fortunate).

Oh, then yours is safe. Motherboard thingy is the same as this defective chip issue. It's the flash memory card built into the motherboard. If the issue cannot be solved with software, they have to change hardware, which means changing the whole motherboard since the card is built-in.

I tested with a couple of apps. I started AppSales, pressed home button so it runs in the background. Launched AppSales again, it's where I left off (shown in Task Manager). If I press back button, and launch AppSales again, it starts all over again (not shown in Task Manager, app closed with back button). If I press home button, and swipe it off the recent apps list, and launch it, it starts all over again (not shown in Task Manager, swiping from recent apps closed it). QuickPic was the same.

RAM usage also dropped once I swiped an app off the recent apps list.

Regardless of how I stopped it, the app does not show in Applications Manager -> Running, but the app info in Applications Manager - > All will have the Force Stop button enabled, indicating the app is still running in some form. This probably explains how certain apps like Wechat and Whatsapp are always running no matter how you exit them (short of force stopping).

According to the SC, other than LYP, it's 1Utama, or Federal Highway. The FH one handles ALL Samsung products, not just handphones, so it's a longer queue and repair time (I was told).

If I were you, I'd get it looked at, just in case... don't want such thing to happen when I want to make an emergency call or anything...
