I am finding heatpipe for my AthlonXP....anywan noe wut is best for socket a? or anywan wanna sell me pls pm me... smile.gif
in the market dunno still got heatpipe for K7 or not...or no production ady?

I prefer tower type of heatpipe. I have TT Silent Tower (with aluminium fins), TT Copper Tower (with cooper fins) and Ninja.

The advantage of tower is you can build your own "hot wind" tunnel to send the hot air coming out of tower directly to outside the casing.

yes..with tower hsf we can control the air flow..but the main prob is the size..
tower hsf usually hav very big size..so it will hav compatibalty issue there..

i always like the tower type HSF,

but i am always afraid that it will fall and break my Mobo....

hehe...

You can also built an air-duct if you're using those "normal" HSF's.
Cut a 92MM hole on your case where your processor is. Its best to be directly aligned. Then take a plastic cup or paper cup and put the cup to lead the hot air out.
To fasten it, you can either use cellotape or silicone glue.

You can either choose to have a fan or not to, it's okay.
Of course with a fan ,it's got better efficency la, however it's not compulsary.

Hardly, it wouldn't break usually. It' usually heavy on the base and so far, i've NEEVER heard of a single case where the mobo breaks.
Silicon isn't weak stuff ya know...

when i was searching for a copper heatsink, my first aftermarket heatsink.... hehe..... looks big, but i was always afraid... NOW NO MORE... hehe... ANYTHING GOES !! biggrin.gif

SLK800A is not heatpipe.... but i know a forumer here who is selling it brand new, and a cheap price too.. biggrin.gif I have heard of some good reviews from friends who uses it.. biggrin.gif

abt 50+db but it has controller, if i want quiet pc i can adjust the controller to slowdown the fan speed. this is a good mod for any copper base heatsink

btw..today i juz find a new TT Sonic Tower in some shop. they selling it at rm165. hmm...quite interested oso...hehe
