i will say save more 200 and i will give u a decent 6.5 " comp set..why 6.5? cos it has more bass..since u dunwan to add amp or others, then u should at least get 6.5"..the bass is more solid and nice than 5.5...try it and u willl know

Hi there,
I'm nt very expert in ICE but I think maybe you should check how many watts can your HU pump out. If 50W x 4 then I think it will be redundant to purchase components or speakers that are more than 50W. Unless you are willing to invest in a amplifier.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm still learning ICE though...hehehe

RMS is the 1 standard of measuring watts

e.g.
100Watts RMS power
1000Watts Peak Power/ P.M.P.O

we normally use RMS power for calculation for level matching
but those cap alang amp will normally use PMPO power to confuse the consumer that will think that the amp will be *powerful*.. PMPO is the peak power...means the power that is available for a certain time .. while the RMS power is real power... that is always available

50w 4-5 ohm is mean the u need to use a spk at least 50w pmpo.....it match the cd player max output which is 50 pmpo

actually, if u dun plan to add an amp later, u can try those non-branded comp set..that wuit ur budget and use..

but if u wan a real sound upgrade, then the best way is to change to a better comp set first, then if got money just upgrade a amp..

using a 80rms comp set on ur hu wont sound bad, actually i tried using my 5750 to powerup Mb quart comp set..it sound damn nice...but of cos with an amp is ncicer,,,without amp,it just didn maximise the use on the comp set only.wont have any affect on hu and comp set.....

So I'm not sure why the one you saw is selling at RM300 only.
Maybe you can check out first...

Shud be your HU power up the speaker but not the speaker power up the HU!Normally a speaker minimum will need 50rms to drive up it to perform perfectly, but if directly drive with HU power (around 15~22rms) oso enough for normal audience.just if you play in high volume, the output will has distortion and a bit noise lor.
that sounstream comp set shud b the fake product.try mohawk these localise low end speaker shud can meet ur requirement.
if you need more proffessional advise, better goto some acc shop(better goto some reputated shop like KKLAU,KFAUDIO,ACP,SOUNQUEST).tell them ur budget and ask them wat system you shud upgrade.I think they will quote you a satisfy combination choice to meet your expectation. wink.gif

i'm offering Soundstream Components LS.60C and XSC.6 , both are also 6.5" .
I have one friend who took from me installed it on Waja original clarion head units, it works fine without amplifier, u can hear the difference on the bass and vocal.
