Hi there. Just went through all 35 pages of postings here. Thanks to all for your revealing updates and inputs.

Am planning to join the club. Still dithering between std and premium. I'm a bean counting guy who knows next to nothing abt car mods. Hence, I'm attracted to Std due to its discounted price and am attracted to Premium since everything's done for me. I love autocruise, I used to have it in my Wira but it broke down less than half a year later. I also love the reverse cam/video & DVD function. Aside from the autocruise, any other extras in Premium that we cant plug&play upgrade into the Standard?

I came across a deal in Groupon which says pay RM200 for a RM2000 rebate on downpayment + RM1500 service voucher/cash rebate = RM3500 value. (RM1.5k voucher can be redeemed for cash of RM1.5k if I take bank loan) Is that a good deal? I noticed forummers getting RM4k discount plus other free gifts!

even auto cruise my dad's honda crv broke down after 1 or 2 years i think
about the groupon deal, be aware about the details. sometimes they give you old batch of the car, maybe year 2012

Thanks for the heads-up. But it is 2013 car. If 2012, more discounts. So should I expect Exora's cruise control to not last as well? Dont they have warranties for it? cry.gif

Thanks for info Walle. Will call them later today. Any particular SA? You happy with yours? What other freebies you got? Anything to watch out/ask?

Been reading up on some articles linked by some forumers about breaking in the engine. Seems like now the best thing to do is to rev hard during the first 50-100km and change the oil thereafter, not waiting for 1000k. Anyone has any experience to share?

Much appreciated. Getting excited to join the EB club. rclxm9.gif

Hi, anyone can share what's your HP loan interest and tenure like? I got quote of 2.67% from Public Bank for 9 years for EB. Seems kinda high.

Appreciate your sharing

last year it was around 2.8+. 2.6+ is considered good already. Try the Kuwait Finance House to see if they can offer cheaper rate.
*
Thanks Zaidi. so far KFH's rate is the best at 2.55% for 7-9 years loan tenure for EB. So happens the officer name also Zaidi thumbup.gif

I have checked with AmBank (2.7%), CIMB (BLR-1.35%), RHB (2.7%) and Public (2.67%). No one picked up at Maybank.

Hi all. Read in the news Proton slashing prices by 10%! Sounds awfully generous. Hope they dont offset the discount with more pricey compulsory 'accessories'.

I've ridden in Innova for more than 3 years as passenger at mid row. Sat at the back a couple of times. Back row is hell. Swaying and bumping the whole journey through. Cramp like crazy. EB has more leg room at back. EB also handles and ride better. I must qualify that I've only driven EB for a couple of miles doing test drives tongue.gif

Hi sifus...need your advice..proton sa from cheras tmn conought quoted me rm4500 discount and no free gifts for proton exora executive 1.6 at.
Is that good deal? Or should I wait for for few months more since raya arround the corner. ..
Pls advice

A forummer also posted he bought his EB at 4.5k discount with no free gift. I asked that SA and if take free gift, then discount RM4k. The free gift includes full tank of petrol (worth RM90?), smart tag + touch &go (worth RM110?), safety glass tinting - USA tint 4mil (worth ????), steering lock, umbrella, .... all in maybe worth RM500-RM700? Not sure tinting cost how much.

Another forummer has just helpfully pointed out some tricks SA can use to earn back some of the discount. See if your SA got quote you any additional charges or not. EB premium is quoted by Proton Edar at RM80,012.00 So his selling price after discount to you should be RM75,512.

Do share with us your discussion with the SA

Thanks

Congrats! New car coming to you ya!

Just like to clarify, so exactly how much you need to pay for your EB? Is it premium version? I just want to know how does the 'booking fee' affect the price. I'm still hunting around for an SA so would appreciate your feedback.

E.g. Selling price by Proton = RM80,000. Discount RM4,500 = RM75,500. Financed by: Cash deposit: RM3,500, bank loan RM72,000.

Thanks for sharing

So, the cluth is a wear and tear stuff then? how frequent it needs to be replaced? It is designed to equal normal lifetime of a car.

What is the 'normal lifetime of a car'? Japanese switch cars every 3 years. My dad took 30 years before he finally parted with his trusty Nissan.

iinm, normal lifetime 4 a car is between 8 to 10 years, approx 250k km. according to honda is 8 years. but 4 prtn is 10 years.

how long u used the car isnt the lifetime. manufacturers agree on general lifetime or life cycle is around  8 to 10 years.

thats why many come out new replacement model around that time. some earlier, around 7 years. some even 5 years. some even 20 years :-).

but it doesnt mean a car isnt usable after 8 or 10 years.
*
Does that mean the clutch is only expected to last 10 years?
