Hi all, just received my new silver cfe exora. I'm a musician, a harpist to be exact. My instrument is huge and heavy (185 cm tall, 40+ kg) so needed a large car. I have been watching this forum for some time. Before deciding on exora, i test drove recon audi/merc wagons, toyota wish & the new volvo/mazda wagons. Previous car was toyota innova, which was horrible for me, altho its very reliable, its super bumpy, the boot is too high for me to load my instrument easily (which is why i started searching for wagons), and that ancient 4speeder gb really is not meant for highway driving. The exora's fold flat seats is a huge +++ for me. And the price too of course lol.

Drove it into town today, just tiptoeing on the pedal can get me to a respectable speed already, haven't had chance to take it to the highway for some pedal-to-metal. Love the car's looks. Impressed by the stability and engine at mid-high speeds, beats innova hands down. So many people asking me, "seriously a proton?" I told them, i love everything about the car, especially if you consider the price! I just will let time show the reliability.

The chairs all creak slightly, will tell the sc when i go. And I think waze is the best navi solution for me. Any idea where I can sell the lokatoo gps? Looking forward to having fun with my new ride!

My EB's front passenger seat is creaking, service failed to fix it. Any of you guys have creaking seats too? My dad told me not to be too sad, he said, "if no sound, its not a proton". lol....

420 each. wallet empty now. cry.gif

car feels more stable now, certainly much quieter. maybe its my mental issue, but now i dare to drive normally in rain conditions...with the original GT, just felt scared that it would skid on water. am going to carry my harp (musical instrument) to penang next year for concert for the first time in this new car, so want max safety.

unrelated to tires...i noticed that the R gear is sort of strange. sometimes it doesnt engage right, i need to shift the stick around, and also it seems underpowered? need to step quite a bit of gas when reversing uphill. i had to park on a steep bukit ytd and was having some difficulty...is this normal?

same size primacy 3 st. I didn't want to experiment with larger tire size, wont that make the car more bouncy on hard surfaces?

QUOTE(akchang @ Dec 9 2013, 04:18 PM)
Agreed....I felt my steering is abit "loose" or "soft" (lol)...can tell the different after installing the stiff rings...HIghly recommended product.

My exora had some problems starting recently, sounds like the engine is cold. This happen to any of you? Once the engine even died after starting.

Hmm I had camry 2.4 and innova 2.0 and it they struggle above 120kmph. Camry doesn't sound as loud as exora certainly, but I need to depress the pedal quite a lot, and the steering shakes like hell at that speed (sigh japanese cars always have over light steerings, good for parking but terrible for speeding). Innova...press pedal to bottom also cant overtake a lorry on the Ipoh part of North-South highway, nearly caused an accident. On exora, at least i feel confident that the power is there when overtaking at 130-140 kmph. Stormy is your exora CFE or CPS?

QUOTE(stormy_stormy @ Jan 15 2014, 05:27 PM)
Maybe true, bigger cc car will need lesser rpm to go similar speed. Not too sure how CVT works though.
In fact i seldom drive the Exora, I bought it for my mum to drive since the nissan sentra was really old already. For normal AT like camry 2.4, it only hit around 2100 rpm when cruising at 110kmph. But again, it is different tech, so it maybe working differently.

As for the speed past 120kmph, i am quite sure it wasn't the case for my exora, it really need revs hard to go beyond that and after that no much progress from there.

Therefore, i think it is still better to get the SC to check and rectify it if any problem with the car since it is still under warranty.

CPS is 4AT? Sorry.

All Exora CFE(only CFE model) comes with CVT GB..

CPS not CVT.

Does anyone know, has the door visor been removed due to excessive noise? Or just cost-cutting?

The third time that my Exora went back to SC sad.gif The aircon problem can't be fixed. This time they said there is air in the aircon gas, so they sucked it all out and refilled again. SA keep saying, don't worry there's warranty but its so damned tedious to keep sending the car to the SC :/ Proton oh proton...why is your QC so terrible...

Yeah, EB. Not even a year old. It's not the problem of cold. It's like 5 minutes very cold, 5 minutes hot, 5 mins warm and on and on in a cycle. On short drives in KL, still can take it, but when I need to go outstation, like next month...oh dear oh dear...
