Do we need to pay to update ECU at SC? How long does it takes to update? Can I just drive in to update the s/w without doing any service? Any pro/con after the update?

Just to share.

On my 2nd service around 6000km, i include balancing & allignment at the Proton Service. Then they report that something need to be change, saying the rear tyre worn out uneven. I said ok coz my though it is just the camber. They said need to wait for the spare.
After around 2 weeks, they called and said the part already arrived and i managed to done it only last Tuesday.
I left the car at 10am and the job complete around 5pm. Reading the job completion report, i was suprised to see the part that they changed is THE REAR AXL...
Has other owners experience the same situation, where the car still new, odo around 6000km, barely full load the car...
Is it the QC problem

Good top end speed. Did the ECU update limit the top speed or has it improved the torque instead ? What was the ECU update purpose ? Thanks.

Not sure, some said jerking problem on some car when changing gear from R to D. Report said FC increased on this V122 update.

Update is absolutely free unless you void the warranty. Not sure about the pro/con. Only flash when your car got performance problem.

Kudos to Proton for taking the initiative. Many years ago, Vios 2006 model had this problem. Guess, rear axle which is non independent tend to have this issue.

Once you change the tyre, you void the warranty. but think smart, change to original tire when you got problem. thumbup.gif doh.gif

This depends on the SC.
Most of the SC don't care for upgrading of Tyres as well as changing the HU player.
But when you go back to SC complaining some problems related to that area (directly or indirectly...) then all the problems come smile.gif
I upgraded my CPS tyres from 15 to 16in on the very 1st day and went thru all the free services in Larkin, JB, and there were no complains.
Now for CFE also same 16 to 17in, now going to be 1 yr, servicing in JB and in Singapore.... no complains....

Yes. But depends on certain sc, some sc if u have problem with the suspension, they just close their eyes and claim warranty for u, some may not and said u already void the warranty.

Some of us here already changed to 17 with adjustable suspension/coilover including me. So i dont have to care bout the suspension warranty anymore. But still they can void my other warranty such the axle, braking system, steering rack, etc if they want la... So yeah, if u willing to risk the warranty, then u are good to go to change, but if not, better just stick with standard until warranty period over.

Ohh that's positive news. Maybe like bro mandrel said depends on sc. but probably need to retain overall diameter and width? I'm thinking of 215/50/17. Anybody use this size anot?
