ohde, maybe it is more informative if you tell the forummers what vehicle are you currently using to 'load up with students and send them uphill'. They can then advise if EBP is better/worse than your existing vehicle.

Plus, I'm sure you have your reason why you want to replace your current ride with a new one. And if you are on a budget, then may not really have much choice as beggars cant be choosers. I mean, if I have the $$ I would not buy EBP, either Vellfire or Starex

depending on luck, SA and color, you can get ready stock or you can be in for a long wait. I paid my booking fee and got my loan approved before Raya. I'm still waiting for my EBP.

you can opt for your own color preference but whether they have it in stock or not is another matter. I stuck to my color choice, hence the long wait.

My SA keeps saying no stock for the silver color I ordered.

Finally got EBP silver! Waited exactly 60days since the day I paid booking fee. Feel kinda cheated. Was promised service voucher of RM200 if book/buy before Raya. I paid deposit on 20 July, loan approved about a week later. No stock until 18th Sept afternoon only can get. Now my SA says Proton dont give service voucher if delivery is after Raya, dont care whether got pay deposit/book earlier. Why pay booking fee then?

On happier note, want to share my driving experience. Drove from KL to Batu Pahat, around 275km in all. Used about half tangki, only one person with minimal luggage. Aircon all the way. When initially took delivery, cost me RM105 to fill up in the afternoon sun.

Pretty smooth drive. Engaged the auto cruise but feel the constant adjustments (slowing when down hill, accelerating when up hill). Manual drive is smooth as silk although feel the steering gegar a bit, not sure if it is due to road condition or car. Love the power to accelerate.

Maintained speed at 115km/h due to engine baru, kena sayang. But did speed up to 150km/h once or twice when a pesky E-class (older model) drove close enough to smell my exhaust. Was going up hill behind a lorry at the time. After the lorry went back to the left lane, I pecut and the E-class fell behind. When I throttled back to 115, E-class baru overtake. kekekeke....

Aircon damn sejuk. I didnt on the back vent, just the front. Suspension nice and firm. the rolling and swerving when cornering was much better than I expected from a car this tall and big, especially w/o passengers & luggage. Radio and sound is good for a standard issue player although the bass was too heavy for my taste.

Sound proofing was marginal. Tyre and wind noise not as bad as I feared but should have been better. Will need to do sound proofing. Will also do some tinting for the back windows.

Fan was super noisy from the outside, especially when I killed the engine. But not a big issue practically speaking. The side mirrors did not manage to swivel out enough for me. Can still see a lot of the body of the car when I wished to see more of the road. Steering position also not optimum for me as it blocked my view of the speedometer. Similar problem when I drive nissan sentra.

DVD screen quality was so so. Didnt expect they use fm-modulator type of technology to transfer audio to the car's speaker. Resulting sound quality was below par. Have to do something about it. Am thinking of installing LCDs on head rests with separate input source and output speakers so that I can put the kids at the back and they can watch their own shows during road trips and I can enjoy my music.

Overall, very happy with the car. Mainly disappointed with the DVD system but not a big issue. Looking fwd to my first service so I can drive freely.

On the matter of anti-stone chip wrapping, I plan to do it. My Wira drove many years w/o seeing chipping but my myvi's engine hood got billions of chips! Not sure if it is due to poor quality paint or not as the hood was repainted after some idiot lorry driver backed into my car. only the hood got chip, the bumper, the top sides do not show any chipping.

So, to be safe than sorry, plan to get some protection for my EBP. But never heard of this antistone chip wrap before. Is it some sort of coating/invisible paint? Do it at body shops? What is the ball park cost? Dont want to kena chop when I go asking so rather than sounding like a total nube and water fish, hope to get some feedback from you guys.

Also, is there any storage space for coins? Plus any storage large enough to hold a smart tag on the driver side? I cant seem to find any of the two. The glove box and the compartment above it are spacious enough for CDs and other stuff but the little cut-out space near the driver's side aircon vent is only wide enough for a touch-n-go card but not the smart tag.

ooohhhh... I think I know what you are referring to. I've seen it on other cars before, all of them black color, some with textured stripe pattern. I thought that one is just for show only.

Sounds expensive! If cost that much I might as well take my chances and repaint the hood if chipping occurs.

Btw, zakinawi, you still maintained the mod you did to your engine right? how is fuel consumption for long distance travel? I think at current stage, my EBP should be able to travel slightly more than 600km on one tangki, long distance drive.

my car silver color. rim also silver by default. so is it "looks clean, kemas" or "no need lah"

I think gun metal will look nice with elegant brown.

If my EBP is white, I will prob go for chrome.

I think there is engine speed cut programmed at 185-190km/h

I took delivery of my EBP on Wednesday. Today went for first service at Batu Pahat, Johor. 990km on my odo. very fast, i think 45 min from my arrival until I leave. Cost RM165. Used shell 5w-30 oil, something with an "E" series. That alone cost RM112 for a 4L bottle.

So now I can pijak my throttle kao kao???

oh ya, the proton dvd player dont support some movie files that i downloaded. even some dvd also cant play (it says wrong region?)

I guess my only choice is to change it? I have plans to install a separate player so that those seated at the last row can watch shows on screens installed on headrest of the middle row. but the middle row head rest have no space to install screens. do the accessory shops have the skills to swap out head rest, install players & lcd screens with separate speakers all in one go? Will it cost me a bomb? Anyone has experience? Thank you!

ps. I notice when I turn on my aircon, my radio reception kinda affected as I can sometimes hear faint hisses/static noise like when the fm tuner is out of tune/range of the radio station's frequency. Is this to be expected?

after driving for about a day with the new shell 5w-30 oil, the car felt really smooth. wanted to try the synthium 10-30 actually but SC didnt have stock. anyone can share their opinion? 5-30 vs 10-30 pros and cons? shell vs petronas?

Congrats! Hope you enjoy the 'kick'. The turbo kicks in at 2k rpm, that's when exora transforms from wimpy to speedy. really like two different engines.

Is it just me or is the EB driver's seat not properly aligned with the steering wheel? I find myself a bit of kilter and need to adjust my seating position after driving for a while. I dont have such problems in other cars.

Also, since someone touched on side mirrors, I find my side mirrors not fully able to show the 'outer' side view. I normally adjust my side mirrors to show more of the road and very little of the car's side body. But with the EB, there is a limit to how far I can adjust it outwards and even at the limit, I'm still seeing a lot of my car's side body when I want to see more of the road! Anyone has the same feeling? Will ask my SC when I go for 5k service.
