Gold is good to protect your wealth but I really do think that for good income, real estate is better. Even if the property price might go down or stagnant, you still can get rental money...

Q4 2012 results is just a projection. Nevertheless the trend is stagnant or slightly lower. It's not a surprise though, as BNM is restricting lending which is a good move. Another figure we need to monitor is the GDP and household debt. The credit bubble will burst soon...

Malaysia’s rising ratio of household debt to its GDP reached 80.5 last year, as the country’s middle class has taken advantage of easy credit. Now there is the risk of being caught in a credit bubble, similar to the sub-prime crisis in the U.S. in 2008 which forced foreclosures and the collapse of several major financial institutions.
With 30 percent as the acceptable debt service ratio, it is a matter of increasing concern that people are using more than half of their disposable income to pay off household debts. The ratio of household debt to disposable income in Malaysia is 140 percent, one of the highest in the world and above that of the U.S. at 123 percent and Thailand at 52 percent. Unless there is a rise in productivity and household incomes for Malaysia’s five million working population, this trend is not sustainable.

Quantitative data gathered globally have demonstrated that countries with high household debts are exposed to greater risks in the event of an economic shock (e.g. property bubble bursting), or a prolonged economic slowdown, and tend to take a longer time to achieve economic recovery as reduced domestic consumption is also another negative probability of prolonged periods of high household debts.

2008-2010 - Property price rose sharply 2011-2012 - Rose very little 2012-2013 - Stagnant This is just a normal cycle of a bubble. On every type of bubble, there would be a period of stagnant. We are now at the stagnant level..  We are at the top and edge of a cliff. It's just a matter of time, a gentle push will occur and gravity will do its job.
