i'm sorry to be such a burden, but i can't download just one song...
but anyway, my only criteria about a good backing track is : it leaves space for a guitar solo. BTW, you have the wrong image of me ! I might not be a metal head, but i used to listen to Sepultura, Metallica, Downset and Pantera in a previous decade |

evo.com... you don't want to help us choose the backing track ? then you're not invited to the jam either
led zep ... we dropped metal pants because there is no space for solo guitars... it's too "full". i myself tried to do something on it, but there is no room for a constructed solo on top of it. Melody is too strong already ? I'd rather do anything BUT metal pants Anyone wants to give an opinion about the available backing tracks ? |

tricky ? i'll have to buy a KFC bucket, empty it and place it on my head to be able to jam over such a fast track...
it's kinda boring if nobody gives his/her opinion on the tracks anyway... i'llkeep silent until ppl gets interested in our 3rd jam |

blacktrix, unfortunately we were not planning to do the next jam by 2007, but a bit earlier...
led zep, the key is not the main issue... the scale, the melody, the rythm are really tricky. I can hear in my head the kind of solo that would go over that, but I'm very far from having that kind of velocity and to be fluent with those kind of "broken" scales. But I'm always in for a tough challenge. It's quite exciting actually... until I hear the back track C again and start crying blood from my ears... hehehe Anyway the majority chooses and wins, somehow This post has been edited by Pix: Apr 22 2006, 11:32 AM |

it's always complicated with you guys
everything is in the 1st post... so i guess we have to postpone the start of the jam until we all agree on the track ? plankton, yes, we can do two jams, or even more, we can split into 3 or 4 teams... i'd like to give a try to track C, just for the fun of it. I might be able to do a 10 seconds solo on that, max first post is here : http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...dpost&p=6654918 |

Track B
start --> 0:06 : A1 0:24 --> : A2 0:43 --> : A3 1:01 --> : B1 1:19 --> : C1 1:43 --> : A4 2:01 --> : A5 2:19 --> end : A6 Track C start --> 0:17 : A1 0:18 --> : B1 0:45 --> : A2 1:12 --> : C1 1:26 --> : B2 1:40 --> : A3 2:07 --> : D1 2:43 --> : C2 2:55 --> end : B3 the codes A, B, C or D correspond to different parts in the song (verse, chorus, break, etc...) . the number after the letter is a simple increment, for each letter. *** track B : audio quality of track B is quite poor... one can use up to two slots. *** track C : some slots can be pretty short on track C, so anyone is welcome to take up more slots than only one !! what do you think if we let all the slots "A" to one of our shredders ? All slots A would have the exact same "theme solo" and that'd give a great backbone to the track. Since it would requires a lethal technique to make anything sounds "right" at this spot, I'd rather let a "shredder" do it |

Metalhead... good luck !! you chose the hardest one
Track C start --> 0:17 : A1 - JEMI 0:18 --> : B1 - JEMI 0:45 --> : A2 - METALHEAD 1:12 --> : C1 - PIX 1:26 --> : B2 - ZEROLEET 1:40 --> : A3 - ZEROLEET 2:07 --> : D1 2:43 --> : C2 2:55 --> end : B3 I just fill in the slot C1... that'd be enough for me. Once this track is filled up, other participants can just start a new track from scratch, no problem ! |

zeroleet, you mean you have the backing tracks for those Dream Theater songs ?
that could be an interesting jam... very difficult though. |

Plankton, i don't want to be a prick but your choice of slots is weird... B1 and C1 shall be taken together, not separately. C1 is a modal change and I feel like it's more interesting if the guy from B1 walk his way through C1 as well, since it is the highlight of the song... what do you say about taking either B1/C1 or A4/A5 ? of course, it's your choice in the end
