First of all.. i would like to say hello to all the brotherhood here. I am new here and got this webside from fellow brother from xbox360 Singapore forum. Well its really great to see that Malaysia have their own xbox360 community rclxm9.gif . I am from Johore and notice most of the brotherhood is from KL. I have to say, its easier for me to join SIngapore gathering then Malaysian gathering.. (its just a stone throw to Singapore from my place) Anyways, now to the topic.

I just wanted to know how is the LIVE performance with streamyx? I know that we have a crappy telecomunication connection aspecialy its been monopolize by the government and we are lagging private company that offer broadband connection. So fellowship, personaly.. what do you think of the connection? Truthfully i do not have LIVE yet cause my 360 dont have the HDD... i am eager to buy it. SO tell me/us your experience/problem connecting LIVE via Streamyx.

I have to say .. everything is great here with streamyx. Only some areas here are facing some laggyness, but all this is due to maintainance.

Well streamyx is like the russian mail order bride,
Your pick your choice.. order it.. wait a long time for it.. and when it comes you might not get what you actually saw in the catalogue, and you cant fully utilize what you paid for.
So in a nutshell, issues are sure bound to happen, but it depends on area and luck.

WAH.. using the SOHO package... anyway when you're playing with local people over streamyx pings are good around the 150ms range which means OK for most things.. (definetly not for SF2.. but we'll see when that happens)

Hey, since you are so closed to Singapore you can become the Xbox Live card reseller. ahahahahha wink.gif

im the few 512 user... so far i tried PGR3 only.. OK i would say 90% of the time smooth.. probably 10% the connection a little choked.. but i guess driving game requires lesser bandwith.. than let say FPS or VS games..

In PGR3, you can set the bandwidth to optimised to racing.

Games like PGR 3 can withstand high ping times cause as it is a racing game it's a physics simulation. Car positions can be estimated, and with collisions off there's no real need to detect wheter or not a car has bumped into another.

FPS like Halo, GRAW, COD2 need more bandwidth but they also have some form of estiamation algorithm so that even when lag is high you can still sort of play a game.

Fighting games like DOA4, Street Figther requires the FASTEST speed you can get, there cannot be any estimation algorithms for a fighting game because everything is just twitch related. That's why in high lag situations a DOA4 game slows to a slideshow cause it's waiting for data to reach the other player.

but like most people mentioned.. don't worry. If you're playing with another Streamyx player your speed will be just fine. If you're playing with people from US.... PGR3 might still work.. FPS... if you get lag higher than 400ms that's it.. you're useless in the game. DOA4 if you joined a US game they'd kick you the minute the match starts! wink.gif

Before you buy a lot of POINTS just buy one 1600 point card and then let the US account ppl see if they can cash in the points cause we still haven't figured out wheter it's region free or not.

Live account cards though seem to be region free so you can just get some of those
