Has anyone experienced this feeling? Head pounding and feels like it's gonna explode?
I experience this when straining myself to lift heavier weights as I recently increased the weights I'm lifting. I'm a gym goer for more than 4 months, 3-4 times per week. I noticed this feeling comes when I'm reaching my limit. e.g. midway through 3rd set of the bench press, 10th rep of the chins up (Im currently doing 13 reps), etc however, I don't feel anything when doing leg/ab exercises, or maybe the feeling is negligible, seems limited to upper body exercises.
The only instance when I experienced this is last week, when I was feeling under the weather. I stopped working out that day when I felt this as I thought it as only because I was not feeling so well.
Any advice on this before I consult a doctor?

QUOTE(VeeJay @ Mar 11 2013, 04:51 PM) Few things that you want to ponder upon:- 1) were hydrated enough? (make sure you drink atleast 1.5 to 3L of water) 2) were you rested enough before exercising? 3) do you or family has migraine? 4) were you on medication on that particular day? when one over exerts; causes the blood vessels to swell; hence some do experience it, which not uncommon. Apart from that, DL may be the right person to answer or check with local Dr if the problem persist. 1. I don't actually take note of how much I drink but generally I drink the same amount of water every time i exercise 2. yup, rested over the weekends 3. no 4. no but i'll take a rest for a few days and see how it goes
