hi all. anyone notice that in xbox360 games, the setting of the resolution would coz your games frame rate reduce down just like what have happen on PC games?

i try on the quake4 with 1280x728 wide screen format. the frame rate is drop badly! when have more then 1 enemy appear on the screen, the game will lag!!!

although the picture quality can be match with 1440x900, ultra detail and with 4x AA open in PC version... but i do feel like my PC can handle the games more perfectly. but when comes to comparison on the prices... sure xbox360 worth it.

hem, so anyone notice this before? and what game that u have try on the deferent setting and resolution. can share with me in here?

thank you

Well.. obviously the higher the resolution, the more power you'd need on the system. Your PC one definetly can handle it more perfectly because compared to a highly speced PC, ANY console is nothing!!! tongue.gif

I just like to point out that... dang.. we're now in the "let's worry about what resolution to play in" phase for console gaming now... sheeesh.... tongue.gif

if u play in lower resolution, do u get a smoother framerate? Have u tried with other games as well? Since Quake4 had framerate issues from the start.

Oblivion really pushing the game. I noticed as I played longer, it takes longer to load a level. And pop-ups also.

It could be one of the Oblivion problem, hdd caching. The cached files get fragmented as oblivion really use the hdd, alot.
The official way to solve this is when you put in the disc, hold A until the bethesda logo loads up. It should clear the cache files. (then start of the game you can hear constant hdd reading sound from xb360, game slow-down for awhile...recache perhaps)

I tried it...it does 'feel' faster but it could be my imagination laugh.gif

YES, but its not that bad, I do get that once in a while but is that really the console or the limitation of the TV response time?

My console is in the opened air, with 3 fans facing it. The screen tearing thingy only happens sometimes and its only while playing Blazing Angels.

Screen tearing is dependent on response times for the TV.

This not because of your PC is better, in fact thats impossible since Xbox360 has 3 general purpose processor running at 3.2G, beside they are capable to execute 2 thread per core. There are no 1 pc with 3 core ht available yet on the market. And talking about the GPU, unless you have something like X1900XT/XTX, your pc is not even up to Xbox360 standard yet.
As for why Quake 4 is runnning badly is because ID. rush the game to market which is not fully optimised to running on Xbox360.

So far tested Kameo, PGR3 and DOA4 with my plasma running at 720p/1080i, there is no observable drop in frame rate.

Tomb raider.. has this issue.. minor though..
other game not so much

but its not cause xbox360 is not powerful
its juz all these multiplatform games.. not utilising the hardware properly

NBAlive on 1080i is too beautiful to look at! lag ? zero
