She gave me this scenario:
She is a Kelantanese, her friend is form Sarawak.
She was forbidden by her mother to consume meat.
However, her friend can consume meat, but cannot take chicken.
Meaning that, pantang is more of a cultural thing. Some cultures may forbid you from certain things, but other cultures may allow.
So, to me, it is up to the individual. If she feels that certain food may cause her to feel nauseous, then don't consume.
e.g some people feel 'windy' if consume too much coffee, but some people don't. So to those who feel 'windy', then don't take too much. LOL anywya, as a general guidelines, caffeine intake should be discouraged. But that is not saying like, Don't drink at all.
