Yeah, found it there but now need to know whats the drive ratio. Anyone knows the manual drive ratio? Our gearbox code is F5MBB.LYN Proton INSPIRA Owners and Fans Thread V53!, Slowest thread ever!

QUOTE(K3nnYkl82 @ Mar 17 2013, 11:56 PM) The pelan chiao drive ratio below:To specify the final drive ratios you need the gear ratio for each gear and the drive ratio. These are traditionally found in the specifications section of the owner’s manual or the manufacturer’s web site. A final drive ratio (FDR) is the result of multiplying of the gear ratio (GR) and the drive ratio (DR), such as FDR = GR x DR. Doing this simple calculation for each gear produces the series of final drive ratios. This post has been edited by k00Lric: Mar 18 2013, 09:15 AM |

QUOTE(mercury99 @ Mar 18 2013, 03:04 PM) The frontal area alone can't really determine the number. We need to know the drag coefficient of our car as well. The lesser drag, the better it is for performance and fuel efficiency of the car.You can read more about in the link below Automobile drag coefficient Anyone knows what's the CD of our car? QUOTE(MeToo @ Mar 18 2013, 03:26 PM) Wah lau.... kua chiong.... i know, our car is not sports car. Just by adding abit of things won't do much for our car since is a mid size sedan. If you are concern with drag coefficiency of the car (usually comes in after 160~180kmh) then u should invest into folding side mirror... Anyway.. its redundant.. cause there is little if any mods u can do to increase the coefficiency .... Geez.... we still talking about a mid size sedan car ah? Is good to know abit more about our car. Dont you agree? btw, Having a big spoiler does increase stability on high speed but also increase the drag of the car. |

QUOTE(XCInspire @ Mar 18 2013, 06:24 PM) Koolric, I think only Mitsu fellas know the frontal measuring area but given that info, what can you derive from it? Hmmm, i did mention that is no harm knowing abit more of car and of coz i will take into all the consideration that you have mentioned. I wasn't going mod, add fins or things like that. Of coz, nor these things will have much effect in increase fuel efficiency of our car. It is not so simple as to know the area in feet/inch/mm; the shape of the corresponding body area, the angle of slant, the curve of the bonnet, headlamps, windscreen, frontal openings (grill - lower & upper), the roof, the under carriage and the tail end boot all adds up the 0.29cd (sure so low ah?). Changing a little here or there may reduce drag here but adds drag there. Yes, adding a spoiler at rear will induce more drag but introduce more downforce. It depends on your driving style if u need more frontal or rear downforce. Anyhow, our car will not achieve such speed where modding a few fins/spoiler/mods will achieve any substantial better fc or increase in measureable speed. We could go on and on with this, but lets not be too critical about our cars. Cheers! I'm not here to make any challenge nor i'm against anyone, and if anyone here feels that my approach is insincere, snobbish or stuck up, please accept my apology. Coz sometimes, i dont really feel the jokes that you guys are having. This post has been edited by k00Lric: Mar 18 2013, 06:40 PM |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Mar 19 2013, 08:37 AM) *RANT STARTS* Knowing abit more do no harm. Don't u agree? Drag Coefficient? Bleergh. The car can't even crack 300kmh and you guys are worried about drag. In all seriousness. You think adding a couple of fins and wings here and there is gonna change things much? On a road going (sometimes if perasan go into track) car? Not unless you're planning to drive 180 ALL THE TIME. And performance mods? Well, it's a family compact car (or so the Westerners say), how much "performance" do you plan to wring out of it? Without turning it into an unreliable mess? Good luck anyway. Oh if you don't enjoy the TCSS, you're in the wrong car club lol. *RANT OVER* Chabutzzz... did i ever say to add fins or wings on our car will change things? didn't you mod your car as well? did u make ur car into a unreliable mess? Btw, is family sedan. is not a compact car. And thank you for ranting, so i know what's i post will have so much of ranting ere. |
