some of the sifu here got me inspired to try out smartphone photography...

just sharing results and hoping for feedback... of course there were lots of not so nice photos and just sharing what i consider as 'the best' of the lot...

had to reduce the photo size by 50%. can't seem to upload into LYN at 100% size. used irfanview to reduce by 50% but did not do any 'enhancement'. when saving back as JPG, just put to 100% (GOOD quality).

i seriously dun understand this phone bashing thingy...

i like nasi lemak. some people like roti canai. some people like wantan mee. so what... food is to be eaten. phone is to be used.

people like wantan mee... its their business. it's their right. they wanna pay rm100 for noodles. it is up to them. some people say maggi is cheaper. rm0.50 only. so be it la. different people... got different taste. got different wallet capability.

in the end... all men are brothers. all women are sisters. but all men and women are not CLONES. we dun think and do the same think. we should be proud to be different.

it's friday. we should be happy and not get angry over a phone.

Actually all the additional features of the s4 for example temperature humidity sensors and what not, all can be installed on the note 2, just have to flash a certain ROM, that is it..
The smart stay feature for example I have it on my s2..
Hence, what I am trying to say is that all those features are software based..
So the extra features of the s4 over the note 2 is just that FHD screen and the 13 MP camera..
Nothing more..
*
u mean the note2 got sensor to detect temperature? and humidity?

i tot the temp reading on note2 is the battery reading?

i have yet to reach the point where i can tell the diff between s3 and note 2 (and note s4) at one glance. i still need to line them up side by side... lolz...

monday morning... so gonna just sing the blues a bit & get it off my chest...

i'm wondering is Samsung is implementing some sort of really silly charging current limitation. or maybe the GCC reading is somehow off...

lately, i noticed my Note2 charging current is only like 400-600 for both wall charger and also using my Long March Yoobao. funny thing is when i turn off the power and click refresh on GCC, it still shows the current reading (instead of going to 0).

i'm more towards suspected Samsung may have implemented something to limit the charge but its a 'flawed' implementation. I end up having to plug and unplug the charger/ cable many many times before getting a reading above 1000. sometimes, even have to restart the phone. i know its probably implemented to protect the phone. but seriously, capping the charge to 400-600 is really bad. if i'm using the phone while its being charged, the nett effect is i actually lose more battery (usage more than charging).

plus, i wonder if Samsung is taking the easy way out and just simply putting a 'limit' for a few hours or so... coz after a few unplug/ plug, then the charge current changes...

Good afternoon brothers and sisters.

Any one has an idea on online sales of GN2 custom skin like Decalgirl? Decalgirl does not ship to Malaysia. Decalskin and Gelaskin do not provide custom skin. Any other alternative you all know about? Many thanks in advance.
*
i use Hydraskins. see: http://www.hydraskins.com/

local company. previously got my PadFone2 skin from them. custom design too... meaning i use my own image. nice and good. but at the moment, not using it on my note 2.

Multi-quote is not the same auto combined posts.

errr... how to multi-quote other than copy-paste, back, copy-paste, back?
update1: got ninja-ed

as for combined post, i noticed it no longer works/ removed?

guys... quick Q.

i have shared over the last 2 days about my issue with stock charger. lately, its giving me very low current when charging -- causing very long charge time. i plan to try and get a replacement from the shop.

i also plan to get another charger...

in your opinion, which one should i consider?
* apple ipad 2A charger? <-- about rm60-70
* the other charger being sold in LYN <-- recall there's mention that this charger can get consistent 1800mA <-- not sure of the $$$

which one?

it could be cable or charger

anyways, talking purely about charger and assuming you have the original cable / yoobao's excellent cables, either get apple's 12W charger for the New 4th Generation iPad would be best (RM69 from the apple online store or any stores)

i only use either this charger, the normal iphone charger (to charge powerbanks at 1A) or the samsung original charger. proven to have the best, cleanest, most stable current to your phone!

http://www.righto.com/2012/10/a-dozen-usb-...b-apple-is.html

Sos chilli ayam as above
*
for my problem last 2 days... using the original cable/ charger. but its the2-pin AP set.

previously, dun really have this problem until like 1-2 weeks back. ya, i do suspect could be cable coz now, every night, i have to adjust a few times till i get 700mA and above. then only i go to sleep. else end up next morning phone still not charged. :S

but i've also got a few other cables... bought from another LYN trader. also very popular... sadly... cables also dun work well with my Note2+Windows7. many times need to plug and unplug to get the Windows7 to detect my phone. using another original Samsung cable (s2 -- the one with the bulge on microUSB end which i really like), no such problem.

*sigh*

i think cables dun like me...

Get the 2A charger that I bought, RM 25 only. 3rd party charger but it's really good. A few of the forummers from this thread also bought after my recommendation.
If you want I can share the link here, I'm on mobile now.

It's a usb detached type, long cable as well.

It's consistently 1800mAh.
*
wah, only rm25... i guess really a plus point over the apple one. biggrin.gif

trying out that multi-quote thingy... biggrin.gif <-- but its only friendly and useful when reply via notebook... on the note2 stock browser, it's still apain coz the cursor just jumps to the top all the time.

*
hmmm... trying to avoid this coz usually at the end of the day, battery almost flat but i still wanna do my surfing, gaming... so, ideally, got longer cable.

Sandisk finally acknowledges the problem of their mobile ultra microSD card particularly in S3 and Note II.  doh.gif

Source: >>The Register UK<<.
*
what i find 'interesting' is that SanDisk says its just affecting a small portion... true? not true? or maybe majority never copy/paste big files <--- best way to kill the card

also, how to know if we're getting the new and improved batch? big files won't kill the card anymore? if so, i guess its time for me to grab one. biggrin.gif

you were also asking s3 mini quetions on S3 thread... and probably some other Samsung threads.

i mentioned before... asking this in the s3 mini thread helps build up the information in that thread. if all the s3 mini users go spam other threads, then the official s3 mini thread won't have any useful information.

Just wondering,

last time on stock everything, when i click on an "install" button on the web google play store, my phone will then automatically download said app.

now, it doesn't.

how how how? i tried using touchwiz + enabling all sync but failed
*
errr... last time i know someone had this problem, found out the 'default' device was set to something else... basically the apps was being 'sent' to another device. sure you picked the correct device when you click install? biggrin.gif

this thing is getting really bad... *sigh*

sometimes need to do like a few times: off power, remove cable, connect cable, etc... just to get a higher reading (at least 700mA)

because now i usually get get like 300mA.

but weird thing is... with the GCC, i noticed:
* sometimes even when everything is unplugged, i'm still getting readings (instead of 0). exit the apps and relaunch and refresh, still same <-- apps is broken
* last night, i also noticed sometimes the phone is detecting it as USB charging instead of AC. that probably explains the low mA reading.

i just hope its not my phone that's broken... *sigh*

went to DirectD where i got my Note 2... just wanted to see what they had to say about the slow charging and low current i was recently getting on my Note 2.

according to one of the guys there.... it's the charging pin on my phone and not the charger. he says its a very common problem. replacement will cost rm80-90. ya, this part is not considered to be under warranty.

he said besides the low A and slow charging, another sign that the charging pin is faulty is when the screen light comes on (or you hear the sound that comes on when you plug in the charger -- that 'poing' sound). i have mentioned in my earlier posts that sometimes i do see my phone light up at night...

anyway, i told him i'd hang on first since i've placed order for 2A charger. will see how it goes...

what do you guys think? could really be charging pin problem.

oh ya... while waiting for them... another customer asked what was the issue with my phone. so when i told him about it... he also commented something we all already know -- Samsung chargers are the worst! clow to charge, hissing sound, breaks shortly after using, etc...

really very much a rumour for now... but its something that's seems to be kinda accurate.

anyway, it may also feature the 'unbreakable' screen... see:
Rumor: Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will feature ‘unbreakable’ AMOLED display
http://phandroid.com/2013/03/26/note-3-unb...-display-rumor/
QUOTE
We’re not at the point where we will have a smartphone with a foldable screen. Rather, the flexibility will allow the screen to be fitted into a traditional smartphone built with virtually unbreakable results. It’s referred to as UBP, or unbreakable plane. The one deployed in the Note 3 would measure 5.9 inches and run at full HD resolution.

QUOTE(joytest @ Mar 27 2013, 01:43 AM)
I haven't really figured how to effectively make that Popular ROMs poll ok, so let me think a bit more on it, coz we have to deal with 90+ ROMs and this list tends to grow and change almost weekly. Administering the list update onto the form is extremely tedious, since there is no bulk upload function to the form and each selection has to be made manually.
*
how about using 3rd party poll and just stick a link/ code here? is that possible?
