Brand: So far, I've only looked at Samsung because I it is more mainstream but open to any stable reliable brand suggestion

Budget: RM1k +/-RM100 (approximately)
Specs: 4.3 (preferably) / 4.7 inch
Smooth enough for browsing web and normal usage + some minor                games

Xperia V. wink.gif 2012 Flagship but comes with fast Krait-based chipset and top notch camera in 13MP.

Another choice is Xperia SP, but the camera is shakehead.gif .

Can anyone help:

1.Brand : Any
2. Budget : about 500 (for my parents)
3. Specs: big screen and easy to read
4. OS: Any (android, WM8)

Lumia 525, forget about Android in this price range. The hardware is not fast enough to deliver a decent user experience.

budget is 2k , i prefer something that is good for taking picture(not including video) and good display.

Xperia L. wink.gif

The camera on Xperia M is crap. While the processor in Galaxy Grand / Quattro is crap compared to Krait-based phones like Xperia L. brows.gif

I'll just skip the format cuz it contains too little info

I use it mainly for internet browsing and viewing photos

Budget : RM 500 - 600

Primary priorities
Smooth, fast interface (no lags, hangs etc.)
Fast internet browsing
Longetivity and stability

Secondary priorities
Photo / video viewing (screen resolution, pixel density etc.)
Designs and appearance :I prefer sharp edges instead of curves, much like Lumia phones
Screen size : preferably 4 inches

Tertiary priorties
Audio quality
Battery life
Internal memory size

Things I don't care about :
OS format
Applications
Extra features
Brand name
Camera
Dual sim
Weight
Navigation systems
Post-sale services

I'm currently taking interest in Lumia 525, but I'll consider other options if possible b4 making the decision
Just kindly give me names and brief reason to support your answer. I'll do the researching and comparisons smile.gif

Second question : Are Huawei phones reliable? They have relatively good specs for low prices, but it's China brand so....

Any replies would be much appreciated

Yes, Lumia 525.

There is no decent Android device in this price range. But you can go for Lumia 525 / Lumia 620.
Alternatively up some budget to Moto G / Xperia L.

Flashbleed is only found on selected units.
Awful picture in low light = You are not using it right. icon_rolleyes.gif

- 2.0ghz processor.

Clock speed doesn't decide how fast the SoC is, at this moment.
Architecture plays a lot here.
2.0 GHz A7 is much slower than 1.5 GHz A15, etc.

Please state the budget.

Anyone can recommend a phone. Was considering zenphone 2 but internet review said speaker bad, battery life bad

My requirement as follows

Dual sim
Good battery life
4gb ram
Budget about 1k.

Thanks
*
Are you sure you need 4GB RAM? hmm.gif
When used properly (no bloatwares, like cleaner, task killer, antivirus etc) , even 1GB RAM is good enough.

Not really my redmi 2 is 1gb so lag and hang.

I already got the zen phone 2. Really 4gb ram makes wonders. No lag at all. All those ram cleaner its just temporary not permanent.
*
Those are typical bloated ROMs (with fancy built in memory cleaner or whatever). Moto G works nicely with just 1GB of RAM. brows.gif

Laymen like to use task killer or memory cleaner, but it is not really needed. They will clean the background application image in the RAM, but these applications are meant for background, so they will be restarted.
In this case, you will experience lag because the processor is busy restarting the background tasks.

Without that, the RAM will only be cleaned when application actually needs it. Less CPU cycle is wasted, hence battery life can also be improved.

Simple rule - Let the OS (kernel) do that it should do.
