the mi4i build quality is actually pretty good with its polycarbonate body
the mi4i have the best camera in this price category i think

But the overheat issue is unbearable which also causes the crazy battery draining and the performance in balanced mode is terrible. I used it for less than a month and I got rid of it. Xiaomi usually put out very solid phones but Mi4i is an epic failure.

now xiaomi redmi note 2 only available in directd with rm749.is it a good deal?

I have no idea what is causing the overheat issue. Because sometimes I put it in my pocket, it got BURNING hot. The temperature is really no joke! And Waze drains the battery extremely fast (and makes it very hot too) which doesn't happen with my other phone. The camera though, I'd say it's pretty good. If your mom really likes the phone then maybe you can get it for her because different user different experience. But be prepared to sell it off if there are major problems starting to trouble her.

I agree with bigmac and I think its own REDMI NOTE 2 seems like an excellent phone. The processor is an absolute killer and I'm sure the price will be cheaper than mi4i but the problem is we never know when will it launch in Malaysia. You know, sometimes it takes way too long for Xiaomi to launch its new phones outside of China.

If you can stretch your budget then I'd recommend Oppo Find 7 as it is having a price cut now - only RM998 now. The camera is pretty good and can record 4k video. Downside is the battery drains very fast due to the 2k screen. Only solutions are powerbank or spare battery as the battery is removable.

Or you can look into the Xiaomi Mi4 however I'm not sure about the price though. Might be slightly more expensive than Mi4i but I'm sure it will be a much better phone than mi4i.
