How well the games run are in the hand of the developers, as well as the toolkits provided by the console SDK, it's all on how can the dev harness the true power of the consoles

but, this time, they've learned their mistakes, both now have same architecture.

Off topic, but PS3 Cell processor is not that waaay superior to XBOX360 Xenon.

The Waternoose (Xenon processor) is actually a derivative of Cell broadband architecture. The chip is actually using 3 units of Cell's PPE but without SPE and guess what, Both of them are products from STI alliance....

By GFLOPS SPE is far superior than PPE but it cannot be used for general computation. So at most the Cell SPE is just used for physics calculation, security key and 3D only which on XBOX360 it was mostly handled by Xenos (XGPU/C1) on XBOX360. Well I always liked to mention that Xenos have a theoratical performance of 240GFLOPS while Cell have less than half of it

PS3's GPU is next to incapable of handling those data.

So far Maximum efficiency of Cell's SPE is around 98% which is a bit higher than XBOX360's GPU code efficiency but still the 3D quality still a bit lower than XBOX360 in terms of graphic quality but compensated by better physics & other code execution control of Cell SPE.



So net-net it's on par only and not does not have much difference in terms of execution on both console which you can see also in most multiplatform games.
