Lahad Datu: Philippines NBI admits sending agents to Sulu Sultan's house

MANILA: An official of the National Bureau of Investigation admitted sending its agents to the house of Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III.

NBI's Intelligence Services deputy director Reynaldo Esmeralda said it was a legitimate operation allowed by his office and that of Deputy Director Ruel Lasala on Special Investigation Services.

“The task of our people was to monitor the premises of the Kiram family,” Esmeralda said.

When asked why the agents posed as member of the media, he said “if there is difficulty of getting inside the Kiram residence, they will ask the help of the members of the media na kaibigan namin (who are our friends).”

Esmeralda said they were introduced to Mrs Kiram by TV5 reporter Carla Lim as NBI agents

“They were entertained by Mrs Kiram. They were even given refreshments,” he said.

In getting information, Esmeralda explained that they either do covert or open operations or a combination of both.

“Here, they only want to blend in with the crowd but they were introduced by Carla Lim as NBI agents.

"There was a misunderstanding on that aspect. That was the fault on the part of our agents. After they were introduced as NBI agents, they should have given the Kirams their calling card or ID,” he said. - Philippine Daily Inquirer

SABAHKINI.NET menerima maklumat tidak rasmi daripada koresponden bahawa dua daripada 300 orang ketumbukan tentera 'Sultan Sulu' di Kampung Tanduwau, Tungku telah ditembak mati.

Bagaimanapun kata sumber itu lagi, kematian mereka bukan disebabkan tembakan pihak berkuasa Malaysia; sebaliknya bergaduh sesama sendiri kerana kehabisan bekalan makanan dan berselisih pendapat.

Kematian dua tentera itu akan menyebabkan keadaan tegang sebelum ini mungkin akan reda kerana sebahagian besar anggota tentera Sultan Sulu ingin pulang secara aman selagi diberikan ruang dan peluang oleh Kerajaan Malaysia.

Dua mangsa yang terbunuh dikenali sebagai Haji Musa dan Majid. Menurut Koresponden Sabahkini.net, beliau dan saksi lain mendengar antara enam hingga 10 bunyi tembakan; namun jumlah sebenar kematian dan kecederaan belum dapat disahkan.

A BUNCH of old men with rusty rifles. This best describes the invaders of Felda Sahabat 17 in Kampung Tanduo, who have been holed up in the village near Lahad Datu since Feb 12.

Led by Crown Prince Agbimuddin Kiram, who is in his mid-60s, the 180-member group, which includes five women, is also starving because of a blockade by Malaysian security forces comprising the police, General Operations Force and the armed forces.

Agbimuddin is the brother of Jamalul Kiram, the Sultan of Sulu. Sources told The Malay Mail that more than half of the invaders were over 50-years-old and only armed with rifles — explaining the government’s stand that the invaders pose no immediate threat to national security.

it's actually THE RIGHTFUL ONE RECOGNIZED BY THE CURRENT GOVERNMENT OF PHILIPPINE.

like during marcos time, he "chose" a person to be recognized by his government. aquino haven't officially recognized one, yet. It's related to this piece of news.

Philippine Government also recognizes Fuad Kiram
The Government of the Philippines (GPH) has also recognized Sultan Fuad Kiram, 1st as the Sultan of Sulu and Sabah.

As a manifestation, when His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei made a state visit in Manila and was accorded a grand reception in Malacañang by then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on January 30, 2009,

Sultan Fuad Kiram was invited— to the exclusion of other claimants. There he had a conversation with his counsin Sultan Bolkiah.

Sulu ‘royal’ family drops claim

KOTA KINABALU: In an about-turn, the nine heirs to the Sulu Sultanate are dropping their claim on Sabah.

Individuals claiming to represent the “royal” family said they were now willing to surrender their rights to the state.

The nine “heirs” of the sultanate have been receiving a total annual “cession payment” of RM5,300 from the government since before independence.

Datu Omar Ali Datu Backtiyal told a local newspaper here that he had obtained the signatures of the nine heirs of the late Sultan Mohamat Jamal Al Alam agreeing to relinquish their claim last year.

He was now waiting for the Malaysian Government's response.

He said the nine heirs were among those named in a 1930s civil suit presided by the then Chief Justice of North Borneo CFC Macaskie. (Dayang Hadji Piandao Kiram of Jolo, Philippines and Eight Others vs the Government of North Borneo).

If the payment is too low, then Kiram family have to work like a common people or ask their follower to give Kiram family 10% of the follower salary...
Kiram follower can also go to Sabah to become tour guide in KK/Sipadan to earn $$$ and send some $$$ to the Kiram family

DUA KOMANDO POLIS CEDERA TERIMA RAWATAN SUSULAN DI IPOH

IPOH, 7 Mac - Dua perwira negara yang cedera akibat insiden
tembakan dengan penceroboh bersenjata di Kampung Tanduo, Sabah, Sabtu lalu diterbangkan ke sini, hari ini bagi menjalani rawatan susulan.

Koperal Mohd Tarmizi Hashim, 32, dan Koperal Azman Ampong, 39, yang merupakan anggota Komando VAT 69 tiba dengan pesawat Cessna Caravan 208 dari Pangkalan Udara Sungai Besi, di hangar Pangkalan Latihan Unit Udara Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM), di sini pada 5.30 petang.

Kedua-dua anggota Komando itu diterbangkan dari Lahad Datu, Sabah pada 8 pagi tadi dengan pesawat King Air PDRM ke Sungai Besi.

Sebelum ini, kedua-dua mereka menerima rawatan di Hospital Lahad Datu selepas masing-masing cedera di bahu kanan dan kaki serta bahagian punggung dan paha akibat ditembak penceroboh bersenjata dalam insiden berkenaan.

Sebaik mendarat, mereka dikejarkan dengan ambulans untuk dibawa ke Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun di sini bagi rawatan susulan.
