sorry for late reply...

1) question:
do u have other wired lan cable to other PCs beside your laptop?
do u have telephone nearby ur laptop & router?

2) question:

any telephone nearby your TV setup?

Thanks.

1) No other wired LAN. I am using Laptop only. Yes, I have a telephone and its near my wireless modem.

2) I don't have any antenna connection, only astro. No telephone near my TV.

Hope that answer's the question

as the distance concerned... i suggest to protect along the lan cable as well by following setup...
Laptop side: SD-4C
Modem side: MDSC0039, SP9201DAF, SLAN1236
*
No LAN cable is used, since it's a wireless modem router. I believe that the SD-4C purpose is to protect the LAN cable which is unnecessary at this case.

The only problem is since the power socket is far from the Modem, the green wire for the SP9201DAF would not reach the earthing point at the MDSC0039 for which would not make the system secure enough.

Do my explanation make sense?...

Thx

as the distance concerned we recommended to split the 2 set of equipments into 2 island...
the longer cable, the higher possibility to attract surge...

so u need MDSC0039 and SP9201DAF for the wireless modem side and another MDSC0039 for laptop side...
anyway, you cant plug MDSC0039 on top of MDSC0039 as it will effect the surge isolation performance...

What is the cable length of the MDSC0039?.

if i were to do away with the splitting with the phone and use a direct modem connection, what can i use instead of SP9201DAF.
