Hi GKL,

I have three computers at three different points. 1 DSL, 1 Telephone Intercomsystem (Like offices but I only have one line) So I have two telephone lines. DSL line has fried 4modems so far so I'm guessing surge is thru phone line. None of PC equipment were burnt throughout the years.

Question for you, with CalLab, we protect the DSL and divert the surge to our EARTH cable on the Green in Power Outlet, would that surge become harmful to other equipments attached on the same electrical system?
ie, surge comes thru telephone line, CalLab diverts to Earth in Power outlet, surge then travels to ground via Earth cable, somehow it wanna have a detour towards my other equipment in the house (Is this possible?)

Thanks for taking the time to answer biggrin.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

So what would they recommend? I have three computers, at three separate power outlets (different circuits on breaker), ONE dsl line coming in. Based on history current comes in through phone line and killed adsl modems.

I totally rule out current spikes coming in through power outlets as my house is properly protected by my neighbour's RM30k lightning arrestor.

Thanks!

EDIT: Thanks for reply, will sort the diagram out rclxms.gif

GKL bro,

need a solution from you.

here's my setup:

adsl modem -> router -> switch -> wireless AP -> users(>15)

modem, router, switch, wireless AP will all be wall mounted ie same location in the roof.
phone line going into modem will (in the future) go out to the fax (maybe) / lined telephone.

Please suggest a few products and inc the price + postage to Sban.
ThankS!

if modem, router, switch, wireless AP and all the power source come from the same points...
and totally no wired lan cable involved.. and u may going to use fax machine and telephone from the tel line...
your choices will be SP9201DAF + MDSC0039

What if I'll be connecting a few wired LANs? Which one do I need to add on? Most likely will be about 6 LAN points RJ45 drawn to be fixed on various location with sockets for users to "plug in"

With that MDSC0039, it's sufficient to cover modem, router, switch, wireless AP? Yes, it'll be at the same location or at least drawing from the same circuit...

Thanks~

gkl bro, I'd like to proceed with the order. There are some slight changes, I'll juz purchase a SP9201DSL x 3 + MDSC0039 x 2 + postage to Sban = RM ??

Is the SP9201DSL compatible with adsl2? and does it come with analog + DSL?

Thanks! Let me know how to pay you and when will the items reach me. Thank you!
Please PM me best price ( I noticed some with discounts on ur main page ) If 9201DSL and 9201DAF about same price then I'd get DAF to provision for fax machine in future... Thank you!!
