recommended to protect power and tel line at the same time...
u can ignore the insurance if ur installation was correct and used correct model for correct equipments...

what is ur complete equipments list for ur PC? 1 set of modem and 1 set of PC? no other PCs involved in ur networking? have any telephone near by ur PC?
*
1 set of PC(monitor + CPU + speakers), ADSL modem, an 8-port switch and a telephone line (and a house phone)..additional sockets are used to accomodate printer and external hard disk.

u just need MDSC0039 and SP9201DAF
but the another issues are the another PCs that connected to ur switch...
there may have possibilities that surge brought from another PCs going into ur switch and damage ur PC as well...
*
that one i can assure u it wont damage my PC laugh.gif

since i have 2 4-gang sockets, do have to buy 2 MDSC0039?or is there any other suggestions?

QUOTE(gkl83 @ Sep 1 2008, 09:40 PM)
u can get 2 unit of MDSC0039 as well if both of the power sockets located at different places...
and the SP9201DAF will replace the ADSL splitter filter... smile.gif

FYI, cal-lab wont responsible if any damage found for wired cable to another PCs
*
so how much is the total price bro?i pening already with the model names sweat.gif

2x MDSC0039 + SP9201DAF + insurance = RM ?

ps: rest assured that other computers that are connected to the 8-port switch are laptops, so it won't be on 24/7 unlike this torrenting machine tongue.gif

Well, from the diagram I read,he got 2 islands right now , for complete protection for this diagram,he need SLAN1236 from that switch to his main pc inside the same island and 8 x SLAN1236 for that outgoing source. Plus somemore not his full diagram,I feel something missing in the diagram.
*
nah there's nothing missing.everything is there.

QUOTE(gkl83 @ Sep 1 2008, 11:40 PM)
i think his PC should located together with switch...
and refer to post 569 and 572 that he agreed no to protect other PCs which connected to switch...
cal-lab wont responsible for any damage that surge may come from other PCs as i PMed to him earlier...
*
yeah i agreed with that T&C already. that 8-port switch can either be there or being removed by me (which means the PC is directly connected to modem).

and even if the 8-port switch is there, i can guarantee u that only laptops will use it hence the lightning strike towards the other end of the cable is not possible (the laptops are expensive, who would afford it to be struck by lightning?hence, preventive measure is there to ensure it wont be struck by lightning)

If like this then I hope nothing will happen and then spoil Cal-Lab name. You did a great job Gan,keep the B & W in safety place. Thank you and sorry for interrupt your thread smile.gif
*

yes, any copper cable (LAN cable) do able to attract surge...
for you case, you can use MDSC0039 + SP9201DSL for TV, astro and modem protection... and you can use MDSC0039 for ur PC power protection
*
how much do they cost bro? i cant open your link in the 1st page, cloudflare error or something sweat.gif

can we continue in PM?
