As the title says, anyone knows where I can get hypo-allergenic titanium earrings? The plain kind without fancy gems or design. Wanting to find one for everyday use. I went to those stalls that sell earrings in malls and they only have stainless steel and silver earings. Go to Poh Kong, it's all fancy earrings.
My piercings still hurt and bleed after so long and I suspect it has to do with the stainless steel studs I got. Hoping to try titanium earrings for a change.
Anyone knows where in PJ area they sell titanium earrings?

QUOTE(ChocChristy @ Mar 7 2013, 12:23 AM) surgical steel = stainless steel. I am looking for hypoallergenic titanium. Fair enough, I was ignorant of the different grades of steel, but infections are caused by bacteria, not by the metal itself, and if you're getting infections (pain and bleeding are symptoms) it's a sign you're not keeping the piercing clean and sanitary. Simply switching to a different metal won't prevent infections from recurring. To prevent infections you need to take steps to keep new piercing clean and sanitary. the best way to do this is rinse with 50:50 hydrogen peroxide and water daily, then apply some neosporin. I was washing with sea salt bath and dettol lately, and it doesn't seem to help. There was pus a week ago, but now it's just bleeding with no pus, which is why I suspect it could be plain allergy. But I will give hydrogen peroxide a try.

different piercing have different duration of healing. So far, I can't find titanium studs or earrings too. Mind to share what piercing you've got yourself?
If you're having trouble on any piercing including earlobes, try sleeping early for a week in between 11pm-1am. The earlier, the better as it helps your skin to heal and regenerate.

Went to see a tattooist and got it sorted out. No more swelling, though it seems like it still hurts and bleed, just not as much anymore.

that's odd. You must be really highly intolerant with piercings and wounds. Usually lobes are easier to heal. Or alot faster than cartilage. If you ever got it again, maybe you should try getting it with a gun instead? Since it's on the lobe, using a gun is fine.
