Ok there will be two updates today.
Currently, as I'm typing, is 8:23 am.
There will be an update on the afternoon.

Ok let's start by first, I got my taste of acrylic.
I tried cutting it with dremel. Let's just say, it's so ugly.
And the side which is less jaggered is by using an acrylic blade by cutting and then snapping it.
And I accidentally scratch the inner acrylic.
This is just a test, this is not the final product.

Gunnar optics but returned it since it doesn't fit me for the lawls.
And it was suppose to be my safety glasses.
Oh well...

user posted image

And I start cutting the side panel.
It was difficult and it required alot of cooling of the dremel.
All of it is done by dremel.
Here's the process

And then I cut an acrylic that is larger than the cut.
I didn't make it a nice cut because you will not see it (the edges).

And then god of tapes will appear for the first time in this build.

And I forgotten that I put the u-channel. It's very difficult than it looks and it requires practise.
Here's my attempt.

So I have nothing better to do.
I used the scotchbrite pad to sand motherboard and the 'bottom part'.
It looks beautiful, it's looks more of a greyish than a black now.
A more gunmental look.

And overall shot and the sides that I also sand.
Details man, detail.

And lastly my last pictures till next time.
Next would be hopefully the sleeved cables and then watercooling parts.
I cut out clear acrylics and then sand it to give a frosted look.
I'm satisfied with the result though one side has a small scratch.
It won't be able to be seen after it's all hooked up.

Well this might be the saddest update.
Sadly, this update won't have any picture.

Because I want to reflect on myself and maybe share a story.

Well I'm 16. A young boy that has many potential.
I was born into a average to rich family rznge.
I have a very aggressive father and a very loving father.
I love computer, I loved it since I touched it.
I've been using it since I was 4.
Got internet when I was 8.

I started building computer when I was 14.
Though I enjoy it, my father disliked it.
He doesn't believe that computer will help in any way.

Well as of writing this 12:45, 12 April 2013.
Last Night, when I was installing my acrylic window on my computer.
My father walked in with a bad mood.
The thing is that he doesn't scold his employees but family members (close members like sons and my mother)
Though he is aggressive, he sort of have this mood swing where he will be loving when he isn't scolding us.

Back to last night, he said to turn off the computer (he doesn't know a single thing about my computer).
Everything he learnt about computer was taught by me.
He started to scold me to stop being in my room (I have nowhere else to rest).
He takes my weight to use an excuse of why you need to go out the house to 'explore'.

I didn't want to. I want peace and that is what I can't achieve because he keeps barging into my space.
This past months, I grew to not eat my dinner because I have to follow him to have dinner, so I just stayed at home.

So he said, that night, that computers are ruining your life.
He said that computer won't help you anywhere in life.
It's ruining your exam results and blame it on my failed IGCSE results.
He uses this threat that if I'm not happy with his decisions, that I can always leave his house.
I was tempted to do it but I'm worried of my mother, so I don't.

I already planned what I wish to do. Something related to computers because I enjoy it.
You remember what those inspiring speech says, follow your dream?
Yea, that's what I want to do.

No this is not for people to feel pity for me but I just want to reflect on myself.
Because I don't do that often. Currently, I'm doing my IB diploma and no one have faith in me to pass. Not my father, not my aunt. I think only my mom.

So the big question is, what does it relate to this build?
Well, because I'm doing something relating to a computer (computer case).
I have to hold this project because of course he doesn't allow me to touch a computer and since all my computer is in my room and my tools are in the room too. Anyway, I hope you guys the best because I'm not at my best mood. What I can do now is to update the remaining the pictures that I already got in my image library and after that, we'll see the outcome.

hobby is hobby. future is another thing. i believe all the pc enthusiast only use their extra time to play with it, many of them is professional like lawyer, doctor, engineer, accountant but not like abandon their job for hobby. come back to the reality man, nowadays everything is about social networking and money. yes u can follow ur dream, but not follow blindly, u are 16 yo now and need to think rationally. which one is more important which one is less important. there are some good example of successful man who follow their dream, but a proper planning is needed. not everyday stay inside the room and upload photo then u will be success with ur dream. think about it man. this is just my humble opinion
*
Thanks for that. I really appreciate it.
But what I become is not my decision is not under my hands but under my parents. I need to be what my father wants and I'm getting sick of it. He keeps finding courses that fits him, not me. I think everybody wants to do what they love. My father is like 'if you dont study that, you go pay yourself'

U are not alone man. I don't know about the others but myself is having the same thought as u during that age. All of us here love computer building include u and me. But now I did what my dad wants, as a civil engineer which is totally nothing related to computer. I still can have fun playing with my hobby during free time. Maybe I don't have the dream as big as u but this is reality that u need to accept. Elders experienced a lot of thing in their life, they just want to secure ur future life will be better. At least u finish ur study and prove them, then only u tell them about ur dream with a proper planning. I don't think ur family is very traditional minded person since they still willing to let u play with ur hobby.
*
Yea I know it is a hobby.
I always know that.
But my father specifically is just traditional and always think that using computers will destroy your career.

QUOTE(irienaoki @ Apr 12 2013, 04:39 PM)
be Good in everything then people will stop complaining.
ur main priority now is studying.
*
Thanks. nod.gif

QUOTE(infernoaswen @ Apr 12 2013, 04:58 PM)
Indeed, you need to focus more on your studies to make your parents happy. I was once in your similar shoes, but when I was young I study to bring good results to make my parents happy. Hobby is hobby, I can spend whole day fixing parts, modding this & that but I have other priorities in life too...speaking of that I still have an assignment that is due on monday  laugh.gif

So yeah, if you excel well in your studies...your dad probably wont mind what you do during your spare time. In the end of the day all your parents what is to see you success in your life. You can mod all day if you want but somebody still need to pay the bills and for sure it wont be your dad forever...
*
Yeah, I know how it's been.
And to tell you the truth, my father never pay a dime into my projects.
Everything computer part that I bought is by saving my own money or by my aunt paying.
I love my aunt and mom more than anyone and especially not as much as him.

QUOTE(devilish_yin @ Apr 12 2013, 04:58 PM)
At 16 u should be studying
I'm 22 ...it took me 3 year to get myself a computer with my own money....ur father is not wrong ... just building computer for hobby wont get you anywhere plus it's HIS money ...u need education first ... for example see iren in uni he mod slowly then after he graduated then he can mod like there's no tomorrow liao now he own a company pulak...

Me? I'm a proud manufacturing student who can fabricate my own stuff for my own pleasure ... pursuing my degree now ...
*
The contribution to my project is around 5% total because most of it is paid by my aunt.
So yea, the only contribution to this project is he pay for my food and eletricity and school bill.
not saying, I don't appreciate it but I'm just stating that he doesn't believe in one bit that this hobby is actually a hobby.
He thinks that computer is like a destroyer of man kind!!
Because you know, typical chinese parent is like read sin chiew and china press, see all the news.
All the news saying that teenagers are crazy with computer game and they are like sleeping and eating infront of computer and staying in CC all day.
So yea, I can partially blame the news smile.gif.

how u save money ????
u worked ?? at 16

normal lah ...my father oso like that ..because why ?
He cares about you ..ur failed result must make him more geram with you ..since u keep on fooling/playing around in front of him. I'm sure if you show him great result he would even support ur modding. Because that what my father did...

so go get good result ..and prove it to him you can juggle between hobby and study

In fact saving rm50 per week is not slow if compared to my old school days. When at the age of 13~16, I only managed to save up around rm5 per week coz pocket money per day is RM2 only. Food bought from canteen cost around RM1.50 ady. Teenagers nowadays really 幸福 than before.

Jangan cakap save up, saved up adi so happy suddenly PIBG fund and class fund. All gone -.-

But really you're very lucky already, but must balance between mods and studies. I am also 16 currently and my parents don't even let me touch all those stuff even though i've been following pc parts for years and keep telling them...they ignore me wit a answer wait you earn money then buy la.

So i say maybe work on study to proof that you're capable of handling studies and mods smile.gif

I'm lucky enough to have a nice aunt. But what I'm not lucky enough to have a father like this.
Sorry but this is what I feel about my life.

Here's a quick update after that drama.
A small update.
Massive thanks to niclasteoh for this engravement.
Because I'm grateful for the seller of my watercooling and computer parts. I would like to show my gratitude to them.
Thanks to A.P.E.S, especially Gori, who has been every step in my project.
So, I asked niclasteoh for an engravement of A.P.E.S logo.
Not to advertise, but if you guys have the time, have a quick look at http://www.apes.my for product reviews.

And my final placement for the reservoir.
Looks good in my opinion.

Turns out the waterblock has a link already inside so I bought an extra for no reason.

And finally the final product of the front.
Removed the honeycomb.
I hate giant honeycomb pattern but don't mind mesh patterns of honeycomb.

Well this is one of my last updates for project package as we head towards an ending.
My 660ti waterblock broke.
Tighten it till thread broke.
So I brought the big dog.
GTX 680 is going to be installed into this system.
Plus my 24pin cable broke so I have to use my blue cable.
Though it doesn't match, I want to quickly end this project as I head into another one.
