hi
i'm a noob at ICE and i wanna know which one is better a

cheap sub ard RM200-300 including box =.=
or a 6x9 budget around 200

i've heard ppl saying that if u have a 6x9. u wouldnt need a sub already and vice versa.

i'm currently using sony's compenent and sony's 16cm rear speaker ( which kinda sucked) NO BASS AT ALL!. paired with a korean Rockabilly 4-chan amp which costed 700 + installation ( dunno got kena potong or not). now i'm planning to get a sub but if i get a sub does that mean i have to get another 1 chan amp to power that sub also?

my friend told me that 6x9 can also produce bass like sub i dunno if it's true or not. i',m not really a big fan of bass. but sometimes go club need to "show" abit la tongue.gif

so, all the sifu's here what should i get and what brand would u recomend me to get? ( within my budget)
thanks you notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

if you wan to install a sub i would recommend you not to install 6x9... as a pair of 6x9 will produce same bass loudness like a 10" sub if both of them hav the same RMS wattage and on free air setup... but definately a sub can play lower frequency that a 6x9 cannot...

as for the amp... i would say you should audit it for yourself... sometimes you are jus wasting your money to buy a super powerful monoblock(1ch amp) but you dun use it to its fullest...

you can start with connecting your sub to your 4ch amp... if you are on budget... start like this and see whther your amp can take it or not... if cannot then you upgrade lo...

thanks for the replies dudes. i dun really care how good the brand is just want a cheap value for money sub or 6x9 =)
my xplod rear speaker's quality is not bad but when it comes to bass. it totally sucked. no thing comes out at all.

well then how much is a well-known good or avarage 6x9? if it's cheaper than the sub i'll gof or it or else i'll just get the pegasus kelvin recomemded me. can i just plug my sub into my HU? will the beat suck? cause i dun think my cheap 4 chan amp can whitstand it. anyways the amp is already connected to all my four speakers, if i connect my sub to it. does that mean i'll have to sacrifice i side of the speaker for the sub in put?

a good simple setup is to connect your 4ch amp to a pair of front speaker and a sub.. those rear speaker powered by the HU is enough liao...

about installing a 6x9 or sub.. well tht one hav to see your own taste liao... but of cuz many will suggest a sub but if it doesnt suit you then you are wasting your money to buy one... so go out and audit the sound of 6x9 and subbies by yourself...

HU powering a sub can be done but you will barely hear the sub beating... and in a long run... you will actually spoilt your HU...

cheers...

too expensive arr.. box included wor, wiring also all included.
ur sub is ard 3-4 years old already oen right? no warranty and if anything happens i also dunno what to say. so i prefer a new sub or a new 2nd hand
sub. let's say if i get a good sub at 400. is there anyplace for me to get a cheap box? box doesnt affectt the bass right? it's just for show right?
++ wiring also need ard 100 T_T

mine used for less than or around 1.5 years (never abuse it as i am not a SPL fans, amp gain never set above 9 o'clock)
bought it new for competition last time

and i am letting go with the 1.5 cu ft box also
as it's custom made according to the specs
so if i change a new sub i need to built a new box according to the new sub spec..no point keeping the old box

FYI, box size/design is very important
a correct built box will give more accurate and lower bass
so i normally dun recommend ppl to get ready made boxes

but now the most important thing
u're just getting the sub only... wat about sub amp?

sub amp? i'm gonna pluck it into my 4 chan amp. no money to get a new one ~_~

btw i got this amp called rock-a-billy which the shop keeper claimed to be a korea amp. that thing costed me 700 including wiring and all. i wanna ask now is did i get chopped? i read from zth that the shop sells stuff at reasonable price thats why i went there. but now i feel like i got ripped off... 700 for an unbranded amp =.=

btw, which place in pj has woofer box designing shop?

to reduce the trembling noise produced by the rear speakers. it's already trembling without a woofer imagine if there's a woofer ion the boot =.=
