i-vtec ecu can automaticly adjust ron95,97 and so on. If u say ron97 only. Why B18CR on ron95 no prob, K24A on Ron95 no prob. My dads accord 2.4 on 95 no problem.
this is true, in a way. the problem is, how long can that engine take it when using RON95 all the time? 2 years? 3 max before something starts to go wrong? a high revving, high performance engine tuned using RON98 (or higher) isn't meant to use RON95, fact. u will literally feel the engine become sluggish after pumping RON95 (when it's using RON97 all the while). and after continues usage of that low grade fuel, u will HEAR it grinding itself to pieces. I have 2 high performance engines at home, a toyota blacktop and a 1jz vvti. both also can use RON95 but I don't dare use it 100% because of the side effects. I only use RON95 if I know i'm driving on the highway and not back roads so I don't need to rev it. and I only put 30% of RON95 then mix it with 70% RON97. even that, i can literally know which type of fuel i'm using on the fly, these engines are THAT sensitive, especially the 1jz, once boost and the pump is drinking RON95, immediate misfiring. once it's drinking back RON97, rev until red line smooth as silk.and fyi, K24A is NOT a high revving, high performance engine. B18CR WILL blow after 1-2 years of high revs if it's not tuned to use RON95. if u r lucky, 3 years will be the max. what's the point of having a race horse if you can't feed it good food?
and back on topic. yes u can use the Type R for daily drive, only if your spine can handle the punishment of that rubbish ride. that's the problem with Jap cars. if they build it for performance, they can't build it for comfort, unlike European cars.
