Hi Guys,

I'm with a quite tight budget (<RM1000.00) plans to add some front speakers for my car.
Previously on the old car, I have used MTX CTC-160 and I am very satisfied.

Now, with a quite similar pricetag, I have 3 brand to choose. MTX/ETON/FOCAL.
But it looks like only MTX and ETON is on my list now.

Do you have any racun whether I should stick with MTX CTC-160 on my new car or jump to ETON camp?
Im more towards rock music such as Metallica/Wings/Search/Iron Maiden.

Thank you

Any shop offering you the chance to audit MTX and ETON?

Would suggest you to put Focal back into your list, might suit your taste better.

Thank you.

Yes, there are one shop that selling Focal and ETON asking me to test all the 3 brands/model side by side on their car. It's quite hard to make a decision. I will try to test it first to decide.

Now, its more to have a feedback and advice, since Im not an audio competitor, the speakers that I will choose will stick into the car without replacement for 2-3 years perhaps. Enthusiast maybe will change it frequently to suite their taste, while Im not.

Enthusiast also need to look after their pocket.

Test in their car, if setup is different also you will not be able to hear the actually difference.

I would recommend Focal, because of your music preference.

wrong.

if it suits their taste, why change again? i'm not sure if i would be considered an enthusiast, however i've been active in the ICE forums since late 2008 until today, and my setup has never been changed since i completed it way back then around early 2009.

Rock music especially band like Metallica Focal component not advisable. Focal more on instruments should be suitable with jazz, country genre & similar music.

My advice look for entry level RS Audio comp or contemporary with it....
