yea, there's no such thing as 'solo' ... there's always new friends made. eat. read. sleep. chit-chat.

we're reminded that diving is an extreme sport, and not just a hobby. be safe, dont take anything for granted, remember the training, check kit properly, practice the buddy system.

Dear divers,
Need ur help here.. i'll plan to go for scuba at pulau weh from 30 aug - 2sep 2013 together with my friends. But i dont have any contact for ground arrangement i.e transportation, accomodation and diving.. any suggestion?
*
only 4 days ahhh. time will fly very fast and u wont get enough of diving Weh!

went with Steffen in Feb - all taken care of, from airport to resort.

dives, 3 a day, just about right.

food - this is the tricky part. there's a kitchen for us to use. next door is a simple restaurant. further down the beach is an Italian restaurant (!) - nice. and next to that is another resort which might have a restaurant.

recommended if u dont wanna worry abt the logistics.

Ehhh, can see all those just by walking along the shore? Sounds awesome!

Yup, I heard about their non-operating times on Friday until afternoon. We will be spending a Friday there as well so most likely just chill on the beach. Any recommendations of activities to do on Friday morning? I assume everything else also not in operation so no point hiringeone to go to town jalan jalan?
*
EVERYTHING CLOSES on friday til 2pm - so you have to prepare the food. So, just sit around, or walk about la. Very relaxing.

Weh makes for some superb diving. Didnt face any major currents when i was there in Feb. Maybe depends on dive-site and season. Fantastic. Was at Steffen Seasport Centre

I am wearing glasses, erm...do i need to buy a prescription mask or can i just wear a contact lens inside?
*
i dont like contacts so first thing i bought was a prescription mask. very happy. there are pros and cons so check them out first. One of the cons is that the range of masks is limited for prescription lenses.

Well, how much air you use depends on a lot of various factors. Most of us will be left with 80 bar or so after one dive, I'm usually left with around 110 bar after each dive.
200 bar is usually just nice or more than enough for most of us for one dive.
*
wow i sometimes left with 10 or 20 only tongue.gif
so if we dive together i will look for you and share, okay. thanks in advance!

i wont call it hardcore. more like Super-Stupid. blush.gif so boys and girls, remember your training, and start ascending and safety stop at 50bar okay....

didnt feel like low-air situation so perhaps the gauge was not so accurate.

i'd think its good investment to buy the fins and booties. i got blisters and i immediately bought those. price - if u looking for brand, then of course higher budget. i got my IST stuff, cheap and good, works well, wont leave home without it!

Using a watch and depth gauge I guess. But it'll get quite troublesome as there is so many things to take note of underwater.
4th August. My bad. Changed to Sunday cause more people can make it on Sunday. Can you join? Let me know so we know roughly how many pax when we get a table.

what time is this on sunday?
