hi guys,im gonna take my open water licence this coming july 2013 at perhentian. Is gonna be a 4 days 3 night diving course but the diver shop that we enroll is insisting we must stay at least 18 hour before returning which means an extra night stay,is it because to avoid decompression sickness since we are flying to the location?

Yup it's the rule for diving. You need no flight time minimum 18hour after your last dive, better 24hour if can.

for example your last dive at 2pm. then you can fly minimum from 8am in the morning, the day after.

Oh yeah, this is to avoid decompression sickness. So you can dive directly after you fly, not the other way around.

my last trip to redang,i went on for to try discovery scuba course on 5-6pm im loving it, but then next day im flying at 12pm.

when i came back after a week or 2,i still felt like im in the speed boat, still 'floating' around.

hmm,im not sure that explain why or just myself.

Just back from perhentian last sunday. Dive with turtle bay divers, pretty new equipment, friendly DM, omfg nice underwater scenery.  The last dive brought us to the police wreck dive site. 3 police patrol boat purposely sunk there last year for the sake of making one more diving spot, sandy bottom, not much fish, mostmostly juvenile fishes.
*
omg im going there tomorrowr to take my open water licence tongue.gif

Congrats! And welcome back biggrin.gif
That's very common among first timers. Wear socks next time or buy your own booties. For now, just get it to heal as quickly as possible.
*
yeah, wearing slipper to work, colleague was joking, are you working in office now or still at the beach? tongue.gif
,that is my plan now, gonna buy my own booties.any recommended place for a start?

Hmm booties eh..
Basically there are 2 major type of booties, low or high cut.
Low cut will be easier to wear but sand may go in when you walk on the shore. Low cut booties also tend to be made of thinner material.
High cut comes with the zip and is usually thicker than low cut.
Bare and Seapro are the more common brands, easily available at most dive shops and are some of the cheaper booties out there. You can also check Scubatex for IST or Cressi booties.
*
yaya,i think i will go try on booties then see which 1 i like the most.any shop to go in KL ?

QUOTE(yeehong89 @ Jul 25 2013, 10:28 AM)
Since you buying bootie, buy oso an open heel fin! Lolz... And remember to go try try n try and make sure it fits, oso not too tight till very hard to get it off when getting on boat. sad.gif
*
yup, searching for fins ad.is it good that i go for a beginner fins first then only go for more expensive 1?

first first, get your own mask, snorkel and fin. then wetsuit and booties on the way. then next is dive comp, after dive comp is bcd, after bcd is regulator, after regulator is all your accessories. last is the u/w camera...  whistling.gif

if you need to ask about any equipment or prices you can just ask here... be a smart consumer tongue.gif

haha.i think probably i will go for fins and own mask 1st biggrin.gif anywhere i can find this 2? i heard of rainbow runner, anywhere else can recommend?
