The game pretty optimized for an alpha. I guess it's because they haven't included all the latest advance graphical setting yet. My 6 years old machine could only ran at standard settings for consistent frame rate. But i don't care since it's still look amazing. Just missing couple of advance lighting and detailed texture.

I still have trouble with Cold War Assault drawing distance, because the game even after 10 years wasn't properly scaled.

Anyway, in my opinion the extras for Deluxe Edition is rather disappointing. High chance most of ArmA fans already own at least a copy of the original Operation Flashpoint / Cold War Assault game. Beside, it's available everywhere since 2 years ago; bundled in ArmA X and already included in major sales before. So that's -1 for me. Which left with only Digital Map, Soundtrack and Tactical Guide which is rather underwhelming apart from the soundtrack. I don't know about the guide but i rather learn the game myself. As for the maps i think it's nice but the thing is it's just a digital copy, although you can print it by yourself it just isn't same as the hard copy.

Maybe the point of this Deluxe Edition is another way to support the devs more than usual. But as far as value for money goes, i don't think it worth the extra $17.

Surprisingly I can access multiplayer, I guess there aren't any protection system. I seem to die a lot when I try to take enemy head on COD style

I joined the OMGeek guys last night and it was plenty fun. If I have time tonight, I'll pop in and see if anybody is running any games.

it use gamespy. thats y ==|| n i facepalm hard why they still use that piece of shit mp. they should use steam VAC for piracy sake.

how do we find or filter server to our region? only can filter by ping, maps n etc, but not country.

They said it's only temporary before they make full use of Steamworks features like the workshop and servers and as far as I'm concerned gamespy is already dead anyway.

What FPS are you all getting, I seem to get only 30~40 FPS no matter if I run 1920x1080 or 5760x1080.

avg 30 no matter high or very high or standard or low. min 10fps++
gpu utilization <50%. u might wan to check how much ur gpu really utilize.

dr laboo rig with sli gtx680 able to get 70-90fps avg. at ULTRA settings.

also there's a lot ppl report in the arma 3 issue tracker, that they are getting low fps. poor cpu/gpu utilization. head to there and add ur note

this issue is same with arma 2 back then which nvr been fixed to date.

What happened was Exodus hosted a game and named it OMGeek. So I sorted by name and selected the OMGeek server. The ping was an exclamation mark but it was quite smooth while in game.

I suspect all the home hosted games will have no ping shown because their routers/firewall have been set to discard ping packets from WAN. So only those who allow ping from WAN will be able to show a number. But this doesn't really affect gameplay.

Anybody want to modify their routers to test this theory?

Ah, ic. Didn't really pay attention to the GPU usage counter at the far corner of my screen when I tried yesterday. Just keep raging when I can't kill some enemy that's prone on the ground before he kill me over and over again, my first arma game. Still running my card at stock setting, hopefully by end of the month I can watercool this baby. No money now, RM400 water block

I don't mind testing it tonight, too much free time. I am running dd-wrt firmware on my Unifi modem. Should be able to change the firewall setting if there's any, right?
