Hi all,

Just wondering if there is any Nanoblock collectors from LYN forum?

If there's any, let's share our collection and find out more about nanoblocks in this post! Especially those who can list out places where you can get cheap nanoblocks!

Introduction

The smallest part is a mere 4x4mm!

nanoblock is an extremely small building block that is just a half the size of Kawada standard diablock (volume ratio 1/8).
Double-ridged backing system
for perfect fit!

Despite its micro-size, nanoblock is just as precise as diablock. nanoblock can be as stimulating and entertaining a hobby for adults as they are for children.
What smaller blocks can do

Smaller parts make it possible to create more detailed and even smaller projects than what can be created with standard diablock.

My collection to date:

Limited Edition Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall, Taiwan - bought from Taiwan
Attached Image

Kaminarimon, Japan - bought from Taiwan
Attached Image

Torre de Pisa, Italy - bought from Taiwan

Electric Guitar

Please do start posting now guys!

It's not difficult if you follow the step by step guide provided in the box. Do give it a try! You can first start with the animals or intruments series. biggrin.gif

Amiami price is the cheapest of all? I've realized Rakuten.co.jp is pretty cheap too.

How much do they charge for shipping and I do realize that the duration for delivery for amiami is longer as they have preorders, backorders etc which will take some time, am I right?

I'm in the midst of ordering 7 models from Rakuten at RM342 (inclusive shipping). Is it a good deal? These includes the Tokyo skytree, Tokyo tower, Himeji-co, Kinkakuji castle, Easter island, Itsukushima Shrine Otorii and sgrada familia.

Yup RM342 inclusive of shipping. The seller is Gute Gouter from Rakuten Japan.

WOW, THANK YOU FOR THE LIST!

Are you in the midst of collecting all the series too? Pretty difficult cause some sets are limited only to some countries. Nevertheless, fun collecting them too!

I'm planning to collect the Himeji and Skytree deluxe set soon! The locomotive steam train looks pretty enticing too!

I only collect iconic landmark by country. Like for US, I collect Statue of liberty. For India, is Taj Mahal.

I couldn't find it in Malaysia too.

I bought all my basic sets from PLAMOYA.com. Yup, sent all the way from Japan.

http://plamoya.com/en/nanoblock-c-1554.html

Some Nanoblock are selling expensive from this site, but the basic sets price seems reasonable.

Hope this help. smile.gif

I'm somewhat an amatuer collector of Nanoblock but I absolutely adore them! Actually, Nanoblock can be found in many places (in KL at least). Most Popular stores have them on a rack, there's one book shop in Pavillion, and there's a shop in The Gardens that sells them. Unfortunately the prices are a LOT higher than buying them online. I'm considering buying them online......

Hey guys, I'm still new to Nanoblock, started off by getting a black grand piano from Kinokuniya KLCC, then Yamato when I visited Hong Kong last year.
I would like to know where do you guys usually buy the Nanoblock? Interested on buying advanced sets to build after I completed the Yamato.

Recently I just bought the Schoss Neuschwanstein DX set from Rakuten Japan. I used Tenso.com for international shipping though, because the seller at Rakuten only do domestic shipping.

Tenso used EMS service, the delivery fees costs around 4480JPY (~RM145). Tenso charged the handling and shipping fees altogether.

So, in total, the value of the whole thing is around RM560 (item + shipping fees), which I believe should be taxable by the customs.
But it went through without any problem, I think it's probably because the value is just slightly above the RM500 mark, or probably they don't include the shipping fees in the value of the goods.

If I'm not mistaken, toys/hobby goods are only taxable when the value is over RM500. Not sure if this RM500 includes the shipping fees or not.
And btw, EMS service is pretty fast, it took just 2 working days for my case, from collection of item in Japan to releasing of item from customs in Malaysia.

Just a head's up to those interested in nanoblocks, drool.gif there is a guy called Chris Tan who has a wonderful display of some of his nanoblock designs at Kinokuniya KL. Very creative! He even has some Star Wars figures as well.

The display is on this month from 5th-31st but it is up already. Interesting chap with his own fB and blog about his creations and how to design stuff. rclxms.gif

If you are into nano designs then you really ought to take a look at this display. I am envious of his nano gauge Shinkansen trains although they weren't on display.

I recommend buying from Japanese online stores, it's usually cheaper than buying in Malaysia. But better compare the price between different sites first, usually the price differs quite a lot between different sites.
I only bought from Rakuten and eBay before. You can look at other websites like Plamoya, Amiami, Nanoblockfan etc. also.

You need to consider the shipping costs also when buying online. I bought a few times from Rakuten, because sometimes they'll have 50% off shipping fees or free shipping when you spent more than certain amount buying stuffs from their website.

If you don't mind spending more to save the hassle of online shopping, you can of course buy in Malaysia. For KL, you can find nanoblock at Kinokuniya KLCC, Jigsaw Puzzle World in Mid Valley, Toys r Us stores (I found that not all stores selling nanoblock though) etc. That's pretty much what I know.

Oh, and another thing, since the nanoblock thread at Lowyat forum is a bit quiet, you can join the FB groups below also for more info:

Kaminarimon, Japan - bought from Taiwan

Torre de Pisa, Italy - bought from Taiwan

Electric Guitar
Please do start posting now guys!

Oooooo. Didn't know there's a thread dedicated to Nanoblock lovers, here's mine tongue.gif. I am aware that they released new Pokemon nanoblocks, particularly the Charizard one. I didn't buy that though, just kept it to the original 5 classics.

New nano block enthusiast here... Just finished building my mini Himeji castle and Kinkaku-ji...

Anyway, where do you get this list, hocksoo? I find that the official nano block site in Japan does not have all the items you listed...

I really would like an updated sights to see list, I plan to collect all the buildings in the sights to see collection... ;-)

It's a rip off version of nanoblock, of course it's cheaper.

Hi guys.. I went to tokyo last week n bought 15 sets of nanoblocks on impulse. Got home, started building n just couldn't stop! I didn't think they would be soooo addictive!

Hi guys, how does everyone store/display their nanoblocks? Does anyone know where to get the basic nanoblock case without the light?

The nanoblock case doesn't come with light AFAIK. Not sure if there's any physical shops in Malaysia selling it. But you can try your luck looking around shops that sells nanoblock, like Kinokuniya KLCC, or Jigsaw Puzzle World in Mid Valley Megamall (last went there like maybe half a year ago and they're still selling nanoblock).

Alternatively, you can get this sort of transparent case from maybe Daiso, or from IKEA (The one I bought comes with light, and it's not cheap, costs me more than RM100 per case).

I have pokemon monotone nanoblocks and they are awesome, reminds me of the old days and limited as it was for the 20th anniversary pokemon. I have extra one set, anyone fancy it? My friend bought two sets from SG, initially imported all the way from Japan.

I own both the rip off and nanoblock. I found the rip off ones have better quality, the nanoblock I own is very loose and crack on some of the pieces. bought my nanoblock from toys r us. only problem with rip off is some of the pieces is missing, but I have extras from other set to substitute for the lost pieces.

Really? Interesting to know, it's the opposite for LEGO.
I probably won't mind getting the knock offs, providing that they're not pirating over other people's work. But I won't mix them with original nanoblock bricks if I were to build something.

Hi,

I've enjoyed building several LOZ nanoblock sets, but now I've received the set LOZ 9384 "Space launching center" but without the building instructions.
Been trying to find the instructions on the web but haven't been succesful.
Without these instructions, building the set proves quite impossible.
So, please, is there anyone who has a copy of the building instructions for this set LOZ 9384?

I would be really over the moon!

Zoltan
